I thought you guys may find this.... Interesting.
We have already gone over this in another topic. He means that he isnt used to how the game works much like if I were to go back to smash 64 or play brawl/smash 4

Honestly, I agree with him..its how I felt after playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl for a year or so. I tried to go back to Melee just for fun and I found myself not enjoying it as much..I much prefer Brawl, as controversial as that is to say.
Though I greatly prefer Project M overall, since its more then just Melee 2.0 and takes out the bad points of Brawl.

Smash4 seems to let you move the way you want to fine. You push right, the character moves right, you push jump, the character jumps...

Stop talking about Brawl like it's terrifying or something :/ Brawl was a fantastic game.

Also, being cautious because of the series' track record (Three fantastic, critcally acclaimed, top-selling fighting games) is sad.
Being critically acclaimed doesn't mean the game is great. Call of Duty games sell "critically acclaimed" levels when they are released, but only a few of them have lived up to that standard, and personally, I feel that the quality of the games have been slowly deteriorating. All an acclimation means is that the game was great enough to sell a lot at face value.

Receiving awards for games doesn't mean a lot, especially with bias in game journalism and the substantial amount of arrogance a great deal of them are gaining since gaming is gaining public recognition. Not trying to bash, but how some games get game of the year (like Skyward Sword) baffles me, because it's core gameplay was very disengaging and redundant; an issue the Zelda series in itself seems to be having, but that's a different story.

Just how many of the greatest actors don't have oscars, many of the greatest games don't get awarded or recognized, and many of them never will. This applies to all mediums of entertainment in my opinion.

It's funny he would say that. After playing Brawl for a few years, and going back to Melee, it felt great. Then I played Brawl again, and that didn't feel right.

You really can't take someone's personal preference as a reference to how things may end up being for everyone. Everyone plays the game they want in the end. That, and the statement coming from Bill isn't an indication to take what he's saying very seriously; just a public opinion.

I never said I did, I was referring only to my own personal views and opinion.
I still quite enjoy Melee, but nowhere near the levels I enjoy Brawl or Project M.

I never implied it was meant as a preference for reference of anyone, just my personal experience

Well he didnt say it but what we can assume is that bill trinen being a marketing guy would not want to upset fans of melee needlessly like that. So we can generally assume he meant the best by it. That he isnt feeling like the game is the same and he isnt used to it. Unlike some people on the internet I dont think bill is out to spite either the competitive community or casual community. But if he is well....crap...I mean, what has all the outreach been for if nintendo isnt actually listening? Marketing? I genuinely do not want to believe nintendo would stoop that low to reach out to the competitive community for only marketing purposes and not to act on making a better game.

I wouldn't go to far as assuming, after all, he did say "RIGHT" with quotes around them, I bet he wouldn't make it THAT noticeable just because he thought it felt bad transitioning. Good look though. ^^
