How much tech skill is exactly needed..

Sigh. I practice tech alot... But even though it can help with your options, you shouldn't forget your basics, and smarts.... I just am doing my own thing, I'm not smart enough to beat someone after consistently trying to beat him. Sure, a falcon, but then I think if it was a tourny, I wouldn't have that many tries (10).

So also take time to observe your opponents game, and not just focus on all the tech. Unless your falco. lol.

Not quite.

An experienced carpenter can build a house using a hammer and a bucket of nails. Of course, it's not going to be as good as when he uses proper tools, but he can build one none the less.

But if you hand a nailgun (and the best tools available) to someone who doesn't know a thing about building houses they you would not be able to build anything. Sure a nailgun is more accurate, but if you don't know where to place the nails to begin with accuracy is useless.

Knowing how to use your tools is a lot more important than having a lot of them available to you.
I think this is probably the best answer to any question ever asked on smashboards.
