I've played the games, so i know what you're talking about, but I'm concerned about the fighting aspect. Here are the questions that were in my original post:You can only completely run around it if you're going really fast, otherwise you'll fall down when you reach the wall, so only speedy characters could do the awesomeness that is loop-de-loop (or if you get a bunny hood) (or they could have a dash pad for assistance, but it'd need to be far enough away that you can go the other way without running into it and going back). If you stall while running around it, you fall into the closest plane.
If you jump while inside the loop-de-loop, you switch planes. If you're in the air when you enter it, you don't.
The wall of the plane you're on works just like a wall (except you can run up it, of course). The other wall you just walk by, but about 2/3 of the way up, it is also solid. The "upside down ground" works as a cieling, except it can be ran across, of course.
The top of the loop-de-loop is just a flat platform, and it places you on the plane you're closest to.
It's really hard to explain, but if you've played the 2D games, you should understand completely.

I'm all for loops being in, I'm just curious about how they'd work in game. Will one be invincible during the loop, and if not what will happen when the fall down during the loop? Will parts of the loops be unpassable if your not on a certain side (preventing you from jumping past it.
If your invincible during it, I see alot of speed demons using it as a way to prevent ever being hit, then again a smart player could simply set a trap, but still, it could be an unnecessary boon.
You forgotI'd love to see an Angel Island stage, with spike traps, botniks, and bottomless pits!
No.Will one be invincible during the loop,

Yes.Will parts of the loops be unpassable if your not on a certain side (preventing you from jumping past it.
Actually using the loop-de-loop just sounds like a way of showing off rather than an importants tactic. To switch sides it'd usually be better to simply jump when you reach the cross-over point, except for characters such as (or only) Sonic himself, whose speed would make running completely around the faster method. If your invincible during it, I see alot of speed demons using it as a way to prevent ever being hit, then again a smart player could simply set a trap, but still, it could be an unnecessary boon.
