How many people at your school are interested in brawl?

I Know.

I know roughly 7 people who I regularly talk to who will be getting Brawl from my area. Although, I can pretty much pinpoint some of the others who will be getting Brawl, (i.e. people who used to bring their DS to school and work all the time). I know that seems like kind of a bold assumption, but you can just *feel* what kind of stuff they are into.

My school is MASSIVE, and the only person I know that is interested in Brawl is my best friend. Everyone else is talking about Halo...
I wonder why, Halo 3 takes much more skill than the Smash series ever will, and it is more fun. Not to make Brawl look bad, I have a Wii and I look for daily updates on it Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are just better

But really, by reading this thread...I see Brawl isn't as big as I thought it was.
It saddens me.
I was thinking this too, but then I remembered how there were updates and all that crap for melee and I never really paid attention to it at all. The only thing I remember about melee was hearing about the IC's and wanting to play them, but I never heard anyone talk about news of melee and look at how melee did.

I'm going to take a guess and say that you have no idea of the advanced techniques in the Smash series and how deep Melee is because you're busy playing with your friends, right?

You should probably expect a lot of halo talk over the next MONTH...

Even the preps buy the game. You know, all the people that run around in khaki pants and play every sport known to man, and their stupid as hell.

i play a few sports and im still interested in this game, im guessing that alot of others are too.

I hate my school. I only know of about 4 or 5 people that actually TALK about Brawl but they're not true fans of it like I am. They have me tell them the updates to their face every day...pretty much the entire population of my school is all Halo ultra freaks. Xbox fanboys. They ONLY care about graphics. And what else pisses me off? Every single time I talk about Brawl or the Wii, my few friends who are all Xbox nerds go to me "The Wii is so gay! Only five year olds play it." and then I go to them "You'd be surprised at how many adults there are that like Nintendo" and they'd be like "Yeah, adults that pretend to be 5 year olds". Seriously, I'm not saying this to make fun of Nintendo fans. I'm a dedicated fan myself. My school's just filled with pricks.

There are definitely people like that. They judge Melee/Brawl before they even get to know the game. Then, they get madder when you beat them.

lol, that sounds like this one kid I know. I challenged him to a match at Melee so I could borrow his memory card, then I whooped him...he literally went on a rampage afterwards because he was so ticked. He don't even play Smash anymore...too into Halo.

What are you trying to say, I mean, I'm in track and basketball, but I was simply referring to these group of kids at my school that are obnoxious class clowns.

(Great, now people will flame me for saying class clowns don't play SSBB)

My school's almost like that. It's not that they think Wii is for babies, they just like 360 more. But all of my friends who play Halo also like Smash (just not as much as me.)

Ugh I hate those people with a passion. "Nintendo is for kids" "It has no serious games" "Who looks cool swinging that thing around" .

Anyone up for some hate crimes?

actually, I do know of a lot of the advanced techniques in melee that won't be in brawl, and either way halo 3 still takes a LOT more skill cod 4 maybe not

I probably got good at Halo at the same time I got good at Smash. I think they both take the same amount of skill. TAKE THAT!!!!

For me, as a highschooler, nintendo fans are scarce.

We have about 6 to 7 guys that are interested in this game and are excited for it. Me and Joe are the only ones that follow Brawl on a daily basis (if you don't, you're not a true fan of the game)

THIS
GAME
WILL
ROCK
EVEN
THOUGH
I
DONT
HAVE
THE
WII
I
WILL
GET
THE
PLAYER
GUIDE
TO
LOOK
AT
THE
PRETTY
PICTURES
if you dont follow the updates dont make anyone less of a fan that got to be one of the dumbest things i ever heard

TBH halo doesnt take that much skill. its like gears of war all the people are the exact same... COD4 is hella fun not with total impact(can shoot threw walls for all the noobs out there)

But in smash bros your % doesnt regenerate ok maybe food ohhh 3% nothing much

IMO skill wise Super Smash Bros>COD4>Halo3>Gears of war

I follow both Smash and Halo...they're both awesome games. They're just very different. Smash is more of a competitive game for local friends, while Halo is more fun over Live. I enjoy both, so I do both.

Along with me, I know of 3 people who are hardcore following Brawl, and about 20 more want it when it comes out.

I can tell you havn't played any Halo game at a competitive level, or Gears, Brawl probably takes the least skill and in Halo it doesn't matter if you regenerate you get killed a lot faster

I would say that Halo takes a lot of skill. Precise aiming, jumping, knowing how to toss grenades, what weapons to use in certain situations, etc. However, Smash has something that is impossible for Halo to have because of the type of game Halo is, and that my friends, is mindgames, which is an integral part of competitive Smash. Also, V3X is trolling, so leave him be.

I go to a college of 10,000, so I have no idea who plays, and who doesn't, but I do see signs for Halo and Gears of War tournaments, and never any Smash, so I guess it can't have too big of a following.

Halo 3 and Gears take much more skill than Smash, and "mindgames" are pointless yeah wavedashing or dash dancing is SO confusing, and what the hell does trolling mean

It's definitely a fact that Smash takes faster finger movements and more adaptability than Halo, but they are two different kinds of games, with different kinds of skill involved. It's not really possible to say which takes more skill because of their stark differences.

lol actually once again Halo takes much faster reflexes, a lot of experience, and faster finger movements if you are good

Dashdancing is one form of mindgames, and wavedashing isn't really even considered a mindgame. Your definition of mindgames is definitely lacking. Also, if you don't think mindgames aren't useful, you know less about Smash than you think. All you keep saying is that Halo takes more skill, but you aren't justifying anything.

Do you mean Halo 3? Because if you said you beat the Halo 3 legendary campaign in 5 hours while looking for skulls you are completely lying ... and that is not true at all ... don't even say that you wouldn't get 1 kill on people I know while they kill you 100 times in a row ... so not anybody can beat anybody you noob

Didn't he JUST say they are two different games? I'm sure you're gonna compare chess and WoW on how much skill is required... >.>
Well chess and WoW don't require skill, they both take time and knowledge and thats basically it so that made really no sense
