Man...You know how we always have tourneys for Melee? I always thought about how long the wait would be for them to start a tournament. You know...Finding out all the banned and none-banned stages, stock limit, getting all the stages and characters, etc. Well, how long do you guys think it will take for anybody (In your state/region) to host a tournament in Brawl? Months? Weeks?

Naw... someone will have all characters unlocked the day it comes out.
I say one week and we'll start seeing tournaments.

Personally, I say the sooner the better, so people can adjust to their mistakes and make tournaments as good as possible.

As for online, I say a good 3 months.

Well I hope the tournament scene starts soon (provided Brawl is worth playing competitivly and isn't a noob fest) so the metagame will get its roots early and develop for years to come.

In my region id say hm... maybe a month or two? I dont think people will want to do a tourey right away, but im sure there will be lots of smash fests organized for fun just so everyone can start to get an idea of how brawl works in competition.

Online smash is going to be -TOO- Sick. I'll get a summer job to pay for it most likely.

Does anyone know if MELEE Is going to be online? If it is then forget brawl, Ill be glued to that every waking hour of the day!

I guarentee you that there will be tournaments the day it launches.

Serious tournaments though, I have no idea. Probably the next weekend, haha. All I know is that there will be lots of tournaments before everything about the game is known.

Ya, there will definately be people playing SSBM 'til like midnight and then someone will arrive and they'll switch it in. And then they'll be, like, "What the...this game contains slight deviances from its predecessor!" "Oh jeeze...just trash it."

lol, jk

Also, I believe Nintendo held a tournament at the Spaceworld before SSBM came out. "Who can win...with NEGATIVE playtime!?!?!?!?" Roffle roffle roffle.

It'd be cool if Nintendo hosted an online tourney a week before it came out, after sending a demo out to every Wii that wanted one. Jeah, it's not gonna be happen, but it'd be cool.

Doesn't anyone want most tourneys to be hosted online? That way we wouldn't have to worry about being separated, and people all over the world could play competitively. Also I would be able to enter a Smash tourney in my house.

Something tells me online tournies wouldnt improve your game as much as going in person to a big smash event and getting pointers in person from your superiors.

Well sure there would be proper tourneys to go to, but I'm saying it would be good to have big tourneys online where we could play people we couldn't normally fight, like people living in different regions/countries.

I agree with Meteor Master. Although you might not get the teachings, it will be great to have tournies with a group of Smashboard members that you may otherwise never get to face. With me at college, and TO being the main place for trounies round here, its hard for people like me to get to 'em. Come quickly Brawl and give me online!

That plus lag, people DCing, ect.

They won't be done for cash, but i can imagine fun online "tournaments"
