do you think they'll release an updated version? And what do you think they'll fix in the update?

With how different the PAL and NTSC versions of Melee are, my guess is that they're going to fix most of the exploits in version 1.2.

You know what would suck? If they made us download patches to play online. We'd be stuck without any high-level techniques.

Amen, my friend won't play me if I use Sheik because I'll chain throw him to 120% sometimes on the last stock, throw him down and then Up Smash him and he'll die.

Now, that actually is pretty cheap, I admit. But if he didn't run into the Shield Grab so much I wouldn't have to punish him. You think he'd learn right?

Anyways, I like my Shiek practice, so now I only chain him 3 or 4 times, and then combo him to his death out of it =] .

It doesn't have anything to do with Brawl. I know how to do the adv tech but I don't do it.

That used to be me, but that was only because I couldn't use it to my advantage. The only thing I use it for though is Ledge Hogging, because I STILL can't use it to my advantage unless I play a character that can use it as running like IC's, Luigi, YL, etc.

Hmm...well, I believe it's truly up to the developers and if desynching is fun. I think it is even though I don't use Ice Climbers so much. It doesn't completely break the game since there's a way around it.

There's that, and characters that are completely broken. I mean like not one character could beat this guy broken. This is extremely unlikely since Sakurai has balance in mind, so there's no worries about that.

I can't imagine how they couldn't force people to download patches to play online. It wouldn't work right if people were using different versions against each other because even a fraction of a second difference between moves from one version to another would make wierd differences a couple minutes into a match.

Towards the main topic, I don't feel that we'll have updates. There's the possibility of changes from one region to another, but it'll be the same mechanics for online play. Thus that all encompassing "Game Experience may change during online play" disclaimer. Although other, current consoles do game updates, I've only seen updates for the Wii system so far, not for any of the games.
