Easy 3-Step Guide to Diddy Kong

1. Press down on your control stick and press B at the same time. Do that twice. If you see yellow objects come out, you did it right.

2. Pick up the mysterious yellow object of win and chuck it at the opponent. When opponent trips, hit him.

3. Do that enough and you'll win.

To be honest, the way I see it is you shouldn't start with diddy if you are going to be playing with people who have been playing a while. It hard to get used to glide tossing and a few other ATs that really up your game, while also learning banana control and even fundamentals. At least thats how I felt about it when I started brawl and wanted to jump right in with diddy.

I used ROB, it helped me practice glide tossing occasionally and let me learn how to use tilts properly. At the same time i was playing low level computers getting used to how bananas move and how to try to put them where I might want them in the future.

I think a big problem with approaching diddy(as a player) is that people see him and think you just slam down on the gas pedal and go, when its actually more about knowing when to do that and wait for the opportunity to present itself. and you better like thinking about everything constantly, cause you are gonna have to.

Yeah, glide tossing is really easy AT that is good for beginners. For a beginner, I wouldn't really worry about any other diddy specific ATs because they're not as essential to learning as glidetossing. Being able to pivot drop is also a good AT to start doing. If you don't know, pivot dropping is when you go from the stage to the edge all in one motion. You run off the stage, fast fall and then hold in the direction of the stage, so you're basically doing a semi-circle with your control stick. Being able to b reverse with your momentum is also a good thing to learn, jsut press b and then the direction you want to go, with diddy though you usually want to cancel the peanut popgun because of how laggy it is which is done by pressing your shield button while still holding b.
