This is something I've been very curious about with fox, but I haven't had time to go into the lab. Right now, I will share some ideas/thoughts about what we could do with the new shield mechanics:
SH up air pressure from under platforms is now better, since up air eats shields.
bair will be safer on shield.
Down air crossups being safe on shield?
And is SH delayed bair(come out later but still autocanceled) into fire fox a true shield breaker?
let me know what you've found/discovered/etc.

I'm guessing a drop off ledge into double jump down air is completely safe on shield now, before the opponent would be able to usmash oos before I landed

not if you cross him up while hitting his shield and land behind him, that way at least you force them to have to reverse up smash out of shield (which I think is 1 frame slower in other smash games so I guess would be 1 frame slower here too) which is easier for them to screw up.

Sweetspot nair should be -4 on shield if you land right away if I've done my math right.
So I mean, technically if you land the frame after you nair someone's shield and jab it will beat out their frame 6 grab, wouldn't rely on it though.

Everything is a bit safer in general though so well spaced stuff shouldn't get you punished.

okay, thanks for the info man.
You wouldn't happen to know how long it take to perform a turnaround and then cancel the animation with a grab?

I'm not **** hot on frame data but it should be however many frames shield drop is (I think its 7), plus 1 frame to turn around, then however many frames grab is (I think its character dependent starting at 4 frames for the fastest characters) I'd also add a a frame or 2 between turning around and grabbing to account for human input.

So somewhere around 13ish I think? Plus add to that the amount of frames they'll be in shield stun for if you hit their shield as you are landing behind them.

i dont think fox gains enough from the new shield stun mechanics.

anything that's properly spaced on shield (bair or nair) was already safe from shieldgrabs previously.

and no... dair will NOT be used to break shields or provide any sort of additional pressure than it did before. you were already getting shieldpokes with the last hit of dair to get that free kill. if the hits of dair had greater percent than 1 (first 6 hits) and 3 (last hit) then maybe.

double jab to upb might be enough to break shields, bair to upb should do the trick too. of course you can jump airdodge away from the initial upb with no hitbox or you can buffer a spotdodge before the last hit of upb if you have fast enough reaction time. but you're not gonna wanna respect your opponent like that. do it
