Don't practice with lvl 9's. They have the most inhuman ability to powershield. Train on lvl 7's if you have too. I usually practice with friends offline. If you play online; you tend to play much more differently. Don't practice online if you plan on attending offline tournies, it doesn't really help imo.

I go to a tournament every weekend =D

By far THE best way to get better, even if you only go for the friendlies

I only play online and do well in tourneys (normally top 20, more commonly 5-11th places... for Brawl... <_< I won most Melee tourneys I attended....)

So offline if you can, otherwise online, and def. tourneys or smashfests if you can.

Snake is the least likely to be effected in lag compared to others in my opinion. So as long as you play with people that will keep lag to a minimum it's almost as good as playing offline. But if you are playing in lag, seriously reconsider trying to find someone else to battle.

So yeah, playing offline > wifi (virtually no lag) > CPU > wifi (with lag).

Playing CPUs are pretty much all the same. Any level it's still not quiet the same as battling real people. But I would say lv 9 shouldn't really be done. They do powershield things that no human being really has.
