Hello, this is a thread designed to collect up-to-date info on Match-ups for the Ike boards, which is always in desperate need of good info.

I come to you today with a simple set of questions, attempting to get the "other side" of ideas pertaining to the Matchups against Ike. Its just a few simple questions I'm hoping to get answered;

1. What is your general opinion of Ike as a character?
2. What moves do you fear from Ike?
3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?
4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?
5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?

Feel free to add anything else that doesn't fit into the questions criteria. The goal is to collect information, so anything s useful.

On a side note, I may feel the need to quote this info. If you don't wished to be quoted, please tell me in your posts, and I will not quote you.

Thanks in advance. ^^

1. What is your general opinion of Ike as a character?
Slow, heavy, powerful and punisher extraordinaire. Gimpable too. He's at a significant disadvantage against Snake.

2. What moves do you fear from Ike?
Dair > Cypher, and Fsmash/Usmash when timed correctly to punish rolling, spot-dodging, or laggy attacks.

3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?
Uh not sure...perhaps quick draw, or dtilt...

4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?

Basically everything Snake's got gives him the advantage. Grenade countering specifically. Snake's tilts are far superior in terms of speed and still pack a punch. Facing Ike is also one of the few matchups that I liberally attempt to C4-stick my opponent due to his laggy attacks.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?

Nikita kills his quick draw recovery I suppose, at no risk for Snake. The rest is standard edgeguarding protocol with explosives/aerials.

Good luck with your matchup guide.

Yeah basically set up C4s and Claymores...It ruins Ike's mobility, aka Grand Viper. Keep him far away with Granades and you should be fine.

actually the only good moves an ike can apply on snake are his Bair and Utilt as a good snake will always see the other attacks coming.ike is in a severe disadvantage against snake.

Rusty beat me to the punch. Only thing I would add is Prox Mine / C4 to screw with him further. Prox is great for if he tries to Side B to the stage.

1. What is your general opinion of Ike as a character?
I actually like Ike. I tend to go for the power characters but I also like good recoveries. The fact that Ike is easily gimped doesn't help much.

2. What moves do you fear from Ike?
D-air while I am using the cypher. F-smash all together.

3. Which moves do not trouble you at all?
None of Ike's tilts trouble me except maybe u-tilt.

4. Which moves/techniques do you use against Ike to gain the advantage?
Mostly anything that Snake normally does can give him the advantage over Ike. Snakes projectiles give Ike problems especially. As does C4 and proxy mines.

5. What specific edgeguards do you employ versus Ike?
Other than using the nikita to gimp Quick Draw its like a standard edgeguarding procedure. If I go for the F-air spike I have to worry about trying to not get caught in the Aether though.

Good luck with your guide.
