How do I get PAL to run on an NTSC cube correctly?

How do I get a PAL version of smash to work correctly on my NTSC gamecube or wii? It just shows up in black and white on the wii and gamecube. Has anyone figured out how to fix this at all?

I tried doing this on the wii and nothing came up. So I forced it to load as PAL60 instead of just PAL and it still came up as black and white.

For on the gamecube: buy a freeloader and use that. I should work fine.
For on the wii: hack the we then use gecko OS to load it in PAL.
