How Do I Find Tournaments?

Don't be deterred by my low post count, I've been reading for a while but just recently registered.

Basically I played Melee a lot and was a *decent* Ice Climbers player...I went to one tournament and lost to the kid who won but it was Icies vs Samus and he missle spammed the **** out of me when he was >100% on his last life every time, but that's neither here nor there.

I dont have Brawl or even a Wii, but I asked for them for christmas. If I dont get them, I'm going to guy buy them, so I will have this game within two weeks. I plan on practicing up..probably as Diddy or Pit because they both look like a lot of fun, but where do I even go about finding tournaments?

I live in CT if that's any help, but I don't know if my parents would be down with me driving to some random dudes house to "get my smash on", so, basically, what do I do? How commonly are there tournaments in accessible places like Hartford, or anywhere nearby, and are they generally *not* sketchballs? I don't want to go to some methlab in downtown Hartford to get tweaked and play some smash if you catch my drift.

But yeah, besides my ranting, where do I go to play in a tourny?

You can look in tournament listings I think that's where they put them.

It depends if you are looking for brawl or melee, melee tournaments are harder to find, but they are much better than brawl tournaments and well worth your time : ).
