I don't want to come off like a jerk, but when there's something you don't know how to do, your first thought should never be to run off and ask someone else. It's something that's way too easy nowadays, and many people lose their ability to think critically because of it.

You should always try to solve problems with your own ability first. It gives a greater feeling of accomplishment and you'll be better equipped to solve the problems that nobody else can help you with.
