I mean look man I gotta be honest Brawl already had its time in the sunlight. We tried to make it a thing, it didn't work out, and people went back to Melee/moved on to Smash 4. Like if Brawl fizzled out after three years, I can't exactly say people are going to come back to a game that died from an overtly defensive/Meta Knight heavy metagame. I mean more power to you, but I don't see it in the cards.

Brawl was never intended to be a competitive game, like Sakurai made sure of that and it shows. And the attempts to make it competitive showed just how non-competitive it was. People were already burned by it after 2008-2009, and I don't see much of that changing.

Pro-ban advocates and anti-ban advocates both had good points over the years. I think the best approach is finding a middle-ground between these positions, using the game's handicap feature, which seems perfect for this situations. [and it's a shame that it didn't come up with the Brawl MK situation nor the Smash 4 Bayo situation]

Put 20% on MK for every stock, every game. He'll remain really good, but he won't be anywhere near as dominant as he is now. The goal should never have been to completely erase MK from the game, it should have been to tune him down from a SS tier to an A or S tier character, who has a lot of winning matchups, but has a decent number of even ones and even a couple of genuinely -1 matchups.

MK mains wouldn't be in favor, but as long as it leaves him as a high tier character, you will be able to see the best of both worlds: MK still in the game, but also more character diversity in late stage Brawl. (that doesn't involve deleting a fun character like MK)

ICs ought to be handled similarly.

it is a fantastic "the most realistic" game of any of the games.

with awesomely hitting and hard crunching smacking attacks here and there to boot.

it's bound to just not flop. and be super.

i assure you.
