How can I deal with Snake?

At range, I'm not having much of a problem with Snake. He throws his grenades over my head, or I bat his Nikita back at him, whatever. The PK Fire STOPS that Snakesliding crap. Well, once I close, I have NO options. He can uptilt me from like 7 miles away, we all know his ftilt is solid death, and he just flat-out screws me up because I play mostly an air game. Snake does not. Air is not in his game, unless it's him flying through the air because I batted one of his grenades back at him.

Srsly. I need helpz.

Honestly, there aren't many options here. You can basically try and spam him to death and get him set up for a Bair spike, but actually doing anything up close to Snake with Lucas is like trying to lift a car with one hand. My suggestion first of all is to just switch characters for the match, but as I'm assuming you don't want to...

PK Fire is your friend. Wave Bouncing is your friend. Space. Space. Space. It's never more important except when facing Marth that you space well. If he gets up close, unleash your quick jab to send him back, it comes out faster than any of his moves and is your best hope in order to return to camping the living hell out of him. You can wavebounce backward with PK Fire and then sling yourself into him with a Psi Magnet on occasion this can set up quick Bair edgeguards when you catch him by surprise with this. Avoid ever using Pk Thunder unless he's up in the air Snake may look easy in the air, but actually chasing up after him can cause your tiny body to be ***** by nair. Getting the KO on Snake, you'll almost exclusively need to use your spike. Expecting to beat him through off the side or (even worse) off the top Ko's is asking to lose. If you get the chance, trying to shield grab him from time to time (I recommend dthrow as this will put him in the air where you want him anyway).

Well, I'd be OK with switching, but I'm not sure who a good fallback character is. I'm OK with Diddy, and I know his bananas screw up Snake's approach as well as PK Fire.

Also, where's that Matchup list at? I could use it to find a decent counter...

Everything you said sounds good, and it's those strategies that I tried to use. I'd always try and lift him into the air (where I'm best, but y'know? It's hard to keep someone in the air who doesn't want to be there), and side and star KOs were stupid-difficult.

Me fighting Snake = I tried using Ness as backup, but that failed, too. And they're my best characters... I'm at a loss. And I don't even know what a wavebounce is.

Counter Snake with Metaknight. Metaknight counters 90% of the cast.

If you're staying Lucas, make sure you PK Fire spam effectively. Use jabs anytime he gets in close since it's about all you have that has a prayer against his close combat moves. Don't underestimate the range of his explosives. Do whatever you have to to get him off the edge and then spike him or else get him in the air and juggle. It's not an impossible matchup for Lucas at all.

Honestly, you have two options up close. Jab combo, and Nair. The reason I say nair is because if timed just right, it can hit before his tilts get you. The knockback from the last hit sets him away and then gets you the ranged game again. The snake matchup is actually not too bad if you play it right.
