How about Mia for Brawl?

I'd want Mia to be a playable character more than any other fire emblem person (she's faster and gets a critical hit like every time)

think about it, in the game she's pretty much a chick thats like ike, if the programmers got lazy all they would have to do is skin ike differently and change some other stuff like they did with Roy/Marth

and if she does get in...i hope she has her second costume :)

Ah, so this Mia has bluish hair too...she seems quite...peppy. Maybe she'd be fun to have afterall.
Actually, it's not blue. I posted this on the last page.
I don't like that one picture of Mia because her hair colour is actually purple..

The second one is directly from Fire Emblem 10.
I'd like her Swordmaster robes to be an alt costume. xP

Lyn or Mia? Hmm, perhaps if Mia has the fame and is going to be taken from Akatsuki no Megami (Goddess of Dawn) then perhaps she has a better chance. Personally, I think that I like Mia more. Just because of her lively personality.

So has Marcia, Sothe and Ike. The others received a few minor graphical changes, such as Lucia having longer hair. But I guess that's getting off topic. :p

Yeah, that's true, but I find Mia's "matured" look more noticable... If you know what I mean.

Why would you choose Mia as the swordmaster when you could pick someone cool like Joshua, Guy, Zihark, or Karel...

If you are looking for females then Karla and Marisa pwn Mia any day of the week...

I don't know... Maybe it's because Mia's in more recent games...

Or maybe it's because of her hair! :p

lol Karla.

At least I can respect Joshua and Zihark on that list, though.

However, while characters don't necessarily have to be on the poll, I think if they appeared on the polls then Sakurai acknowledges their existance and has given them consideration. I'd prefer Joshua over Mia because later in the game, if you have him recruited then they reveal a shocking secret about his true identity which gives him some background. (won't spoil for any non-Fire Emblem vets.)To me, Marisa is just as 2d as Mia. Infact. Both of them overuse "boss" when speaking and are rather easygoing when it comes to combat. Though Mia was cheesily obsessed with finding her ultimate opponent and Marisa was going through a cheap love saga. I think Mia would be better than Marisa, even though she's from the same game as Ike because of her higher charisma which would make her more enjoyable and lively character. That and her chances are higher so it's more believable.

Do I support crit characters from FE in Brawl? Sure, why not?
Do I support that useless ***** Mia? No

I say go with Jaffar from FE7, he's the 2nd best unit in the game. (First being Marcus but I doubt they'll put a horse in Brawl)

I liked Marisa's personality a lot more than Mia's... Mia was annoyingly cute for a swordmaster (and she is inferior to Zihark or Stephan anyway)

Marisa was hardcore... her father made her sleep surrounded by sword points so she would learn to be alert in the night...

Karel is still my favorite sword master...

I don't think personal strength matters, or else Roy would be whiping the floor with Marth. :p

While the female Swordmasters in Path of Radiance may have had moot stats, I don't think that's what we're after. All of the Fire Emblem lords as of recent and in Super Smash Bros are rather serious, as is Marisa. I rather have a more light-hearted character to show not everyone is stone and grit. I guess this comes down to opinion since there are viable reasons for just about any swordmaster, but the appearance on the poll still gives Mia the upperhand. :p

I reckon he's talking about FE6.

I like Mia, she's a lively character, and the swordmaster looks are awesome. Mia was also in Sakurai's poll, right? I have my doubts about her joining, but I wouldn't really mind her as a character. :)

I would actually be kinda pissed if Mia made it into brawl. How on earth could Sakurai let a generic swordsmaster into Brawl? There are so many better choices than Mia.

Lyndis: similar sword fighting style as Mia and uses a bow, first international female lord.

Or

Mikaya: The 2nd Lord in FE history to be a mage type character ( she uses light magic), I'd say she'd be a more developed Zelda in the Magic area so she would be very unique.

Honestly when Mia is compared too these two females from FE she has nothing to offer; she isn't important.

(Note: I know there are other FE characters other than Lyndis and Mikaya that could be in brawl, I just wanted to highlight other female options for the FE roaster )

Yeah. There's no denying that Micaiah's chances are much higher. What also seperates her from Zelda is the fact she can attack with staves, which would further expand her moveset.

As cool as Lyn is, her chances are low for two reasons. For one, Eliwood would be considered the main character. The other being she didn't appear on the polls at all thus to get in would have to be recognized by Sakurai himself.

Oh, I agree with you entirely. There are a lot of FE characters more worthy of joining the fray than Mia. I wouldn't mind Mia if she made the cut but Lyndis/Micaiah would be a much more wise choice.

If Sakurai has any taste at all in dominant Fire Emblem femine fatales, then surely enough, he will add either Mia, Lyn, or both FB characters to the Brawl Roster.

He better not add Mia as a playable character. I mean that's like adding Boyd into brawl instead of Ike.

What’s with everyone’s obsession with characters with swords?
I’m not against them but I’d rather see another type of non sword fire emblem class added to the game.

Mia was pretty cool in PoR, but i really didn't care for her much.. if any Fire Emblem Sword-wileding female is going to make it into brawl, my guess is it's going to be Lyndis..Love her Hair, love her costume, Love her story.. Her final fmash could be cool.. she'll go into Hero mode and be able to use her bow and use that cool Wyrm Sword..

If the Sakurai list is true, Mia has a slightly better chance than every other Femme swordfighter we've ever had (except Sheeda, who is also on the list and far more plot important to 1/3 than Mia is to 9/10).

However, Mia is sexy and has a pretty decent fan follow, so ya never know.

While I'd love Mia to get in (she was one of my beastly 'kill any and everything that moves' 9 units), if its between her and Neph. We got enough swordfighters.

Moveset for Mia

Mia's a speed and timing character, her sword moves have timing spots with higher kick. They are very small windows of oppertunity.

Standing A: Swordhilt
- Quick punch with the sword weilding hand.
A, A, A Combo: Swordhilt, Kick, Horizontal Swing
- Starting the same as A, however this moves into a front kick then steping into a small long hitbox (no large arcing hitbox).
Dash A: Pass Strike
- FE9's Myrmidon Critical animation, low start-up time, ending lag, with a timed strike similar to Shiek's moveset.
Forward A: Horizontal Swing
- A similar hit as her 3rd A hit, but there is start-up lag due to the lack of the kick set-up. Angle can be tweaked like various Melee moves.
Down A: Low Kick
- Mia does a quick trip kick
Up A: Swordspin
- Mia spins her sword in one hand, the hitbox is around her. However unless you were above her the move isn't that powerful.

F Smash: Bushido Swing
- Charging Mia's sword is sheathed, the strike is as she pulls it out, samurai style. Like most of her other forward swings its a long narrow hitbox.
U Smash: Swordflip
- Mia does a frontflip (unlike the backflips the Fox and Pikachu do) striking with her sword. Her sword starts in the same position as Ike's F-Smash.
D Smash: Graceful Whirlwind
- Mia does a quick Peach/Pikachu style spin. It has a nice startup for a Smash but a endlag after she stops spinning. Unlike Peach and Pikachu this will just toss you away in the first strike to hit you.

Nair: Obvious Robbery from Marth
- Obviously the same move Marth does in Melee as a Nair
Fair: S3xstab
- Mia quickly stabs forward. Damage mechanic like the "Sexkicks".
Bair: False Sepuku
- Mia stabs behind herself under an arm, however at some angles it'll look like she's pulling a Yoshimitsu. Ending lag.
Uair: Link Wannabe
- Stealing Link's Uair
Dair: Spikekick
- Standard spiking kick attack.

Spot Dodge: Tech speed, low lag on either end. She's a Swordmaster.
Front Roll: Short range sidestep, doing a cute little spin in the middle (its based off of one of her dodges in 9/10).
Back Roll: Longer than the front roll and not as fast, she does a backflip to get away in this one. (Based on... something out of FE9/10, I can't remember.)

Standard Special Move: Astra
- A DED/DB style five hit combo, variable by changing the second to fifth analog sticks while hitting the Special Attack button. However, like Dedede's Super Jump, you can Feint (Dodge) by pushing back on the analog stick or D-Pad. However per combo you can only feint once. Certain combo strikes spike, and you can't do certain moves in the air.
Side Special Move: Dash Step
- Ike's Ranger Crit. However as a Swordmaster (and a Graceful Whirlwind of Singing Steel) she should have a quick dashing move like it so I don't count it as a negative steal.
Up Special Move: Swordmaster Critical
- FE9 Swordmaster Criticals. While in the air its a spiral sword slash around her while leaping up (middle range all around her). On the ground its a leaping uppercut strike (longer range in front of her). Little left and right movement on either.
Down Special Move: Counter
- All Fire Emblem characters Counter, so says I.

Final Smash: Phantom Astra
- This one is pulling from the Sprite based Fire Emblem games. The classic Swordmaster Critical animation with afterimages and striking from all sides. One person (the one hit by the starting attack) is the focus on the barrage of death, however being too close to him might get you a stray afterimage hitting you for minimal damage. Not being trapped does not make you free to just start beating on the poor soul.

Grab + Strike: Knee to the Gut/face/whatever it reaches.
Forward Throw: Handstand on their shoulders/back/head, when she lands on the other side of them throws forward (doesn't step off a ledge or drop off the stage like Kirby throws).
Back Throw: Rolls back and kicks them off behind her.
Up Throw: Kick to the chin up into the air.
Down Throw: Hook kick to head that drops them to the ground.

Taunt notes: Dialog not taken from the games, I'm putting things in that fit for Mia. Also each part is taken from 9 and 10's post combat animations. Forward and Down Taunts can do Luigi taunt level damage getting hit by them.
Up Taunt: Gently spins her sword in one hand. "Nobody's sword is stronger than mine!"
Forward Taunt: Points sword and dramatic swing to behind her. "Listen to my Sword sing!"
Down Taunt: Spins in place and a dramatic sword swing to behind her. "I won't lose!"

Why on Earth would a non-lord FE rep be put in. Mia is just about the least important character in FE9 as well. With Fire Emblem having so many characters having more possible than almost any franchise except Mario why would such a minor character get in

There are non-Lords that could get into Brawl. Granted Mia isn't exactly top of that list, but we can dream.

Sheeda is the best example, Soren a close second.

I got confused on which Mia, but Mia (FE) as cool as she is she's not important enough. If non lords could make it she's a cool choice but still would stay behind :( the non-lord that has been getting a lot of support since Melee is Sheeda.
