How about a DDR stage?

A stage with no floor, roof and walls. Just a bunch of arrows scrolling upwards in which fighters must jump from one arrow to another to avoid falling. As the arrows reach the top of the screen they dissappear at the rythm of the music (which could be taken from DDR: Mario Mix).

Seriously. How could it NOT work?

You, my friend, are a genious. You should work for nintendo cause this would make brawl fun to the max.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the "genious" in this stage. It sounds like it would be similar to the reson people hated Icicle Mountain so much: they were so busy hopping around, trying to stay alive, there was no time for actual fighting. If this idea was somehow implemented into Brawl, I'd excpect it to be more of a stadium mode where you try to stay alive for the longest time possible while jumping on the notes of all the great Nintendo hits.

At first, I wasn't really sure about the idea.

But when I think about it, it actually sounds fun!
Some arrows could move slow and some could move fast.
They could even add in mines (trap arrows) for fun.

It's pretty much like the right side of Pichu's BTT stage, but on a larger scale, right?

...Where do you fight if keep hopping?

It reminds me of PokeFloats. Not saying that stage is banned, but very hard to fight on.

What he says. This wouldn't be too good of a stage..

Except that Picto-Chat apparently always has a main platform, and it isn't constantly about moving around to continue to live. Even the Rumble Falls stage's is bigger and slower, or at least toned town, motion to fix that problem. The stage is fun, but this stage seems slightly flawed, unless the arrows move much slower than they actually do in DDR, and are bigger (so that there are actual platforms, albeit temporary ones), in which case it'd probably be, as you said, genius.

If the arrows had sort of invisible platforms on top of them to make them flat on top, and the arrows were quite large I could see this working, as long as whatever song was on had many different arrows at the exact same time.

Uh, the arrows would have to move pretty fast to keep in time with the music. Look at any DDR video, and when the song gets to a moderately fast part, can you even invision a character in Smash jumping that fast? I can't. Unless everyone was Fox.

And also, if they slowed down the arrow's speed but not the song's speed, the stage would become incredibly cramped.

The solution? Super Very Easy mode, only a very small amount of beats in the song would even get arrows. albeit as DDR it might not be fun, but this is smash.

Maybe the harder the computers, the more notes appear, or less?

I don't get why so many people think this is a good idea. It'd be like Icicle Mountain, but with smaller and possibly faster moving platforms. There'd be too much jumping and concentration on not falling than fighting. Also, I see some characters having huge adantages over others on such a stage.

Thank you! Finally, someone else who is talking sense! This would be a good Stadium mode, where you see how long you can stay alive, but it has absolutely no potential as an actual stage.

this idea is one of those ideas that is so terrible, that in practice it would actually be pretty darn cool..

edit> but yeah, I think it would be better as some sort of challenge mode..

When I first saw the thread I thought it said "DBR Stage". That is all...

Oh yeah, 'bout the stage. Love the idea, hated the delivery...

No. Just No.
I've sat on thinking about it, about its "genious" and all that stuff and i certainly say no.

The stage would be a major flop, and besides if theres a stage usually there is someone to represent it.. sooo? what? that stupid dancing vacuum-robot? no way.
