no one will! this is probably the best bit of info we have gotten yet from the site, i just cant wait till we know what buttons do what. so how will we dash and smash atk with the wii remote (no nunchuk)? thanks for teasing us about it sakurai lol. This is too awesome. I wonder if tournaments will allow all methods of control, or limit it to a single one. I can't imagine them limiting it, considering in the end, all controllers will do the same thing. Im gonna love trying the new controls, but I'll most likely stick with the cube controller.

You know, I just think that the best way to play will be GC controller, but it will be neat to see what are the pros and cons of each control style. It will add some more dynamics to the game. I just see some delay with the wii mote.

Here's how I think they will work:

Wii remote on side:
D-Pad: Walk
Double tap D-Pad direction: Dash
2: Jump
1: Attack
B: Special Attack
A: Shield
Tilt controller left/right/down while shielding: Roll/Side Dodge
- (select) : Final Smash, or taunt when no Final Smash is available
A+1: Grab
Move controller with force while pressing 1 with direction: Smash attack
I just can't think how to do a running grab. Can't get it all I guess on a single Wii remote

Wii Remote + Nunchuk
Analog: Move-Walk/Run
A: Jump
B: Attack
Z: Special Attack
C: Shield
1: Taunt
2: Final Smash
D-Pad: Like Cube C-Stick
Again, can't think of a grab button, for something like a running grab.

Classic Controller
Left Analog: Move
Right Analog: Like Cube C-Stick
a: Jump
b: Attack
y: Special Attack
x: Jump
R: Shield
RB: Grab
L: Shield
LB: Final Smash
DPad: Taunt

I really like the possibilities of Cube and Classic controllers.

Just thought again, perhaps we can change the controls in an options menu? For instance, some might like to mix up the 4 face buttons on the classic controller.

Thats what im most excited about, that and the wiimote + nunchuck, Just to see how they work. though all things considered I'll probablly stick with the Gc controller or Classic controller.

though I believe that the Gc contrller will trump the classic controller because the right buttons are bigger and closer together which will allow your reactions to register faster.

Wiimote = fun!

IMO tilting the wiimote will make you walk/run/dash depending on the angle and direction of the tilt.

_ = standing

/ = dash left

\ = dash right

This is how it will be done. I win.

I knew they'd at least use ONE Wiimote style configuration... but three? Plus Gamecube?

I wonder which one will dominate competitive Brawl?

it was about time Sakurai released this info...wiimote ( sideways ) sounds like it would be fun but like most of u i'll problably just stick to the GC controller....hmmm...i wonder if u'll be able to use all 4 forms of control at one time for 4 player Brawl.

We do have an official thread you guys. Look in the stickies. And don't post here anymore, the last thing you want is a bloated spam thread.

Ha, I had a similar reaction. "HOLY FREAKIN' MOLY!"

Sakurai hit us with the first substantial bit of news on the site when we least expected it!

It's gonna be kind of sucky though with stupid peeps trying to MAKE you use the cube controller, without even giving the Motechuk a chance. (I'll probably use the cube controller, but I'd like to think the remote and nunchuk combo could work just as well... we'll see if he elaborates.)

This is gonna be one wild game! How will I decide!?

This is good. With E3 coming up in the next couple of weeks, hopefully we'll start hearing more INDEPTH details for Brawl in terms of control scheme. So far this is the best news they've put up. I'll definitely take a stab at all the control styles but I'm gunna stick with the GC controller. Can't go wrong with that puppy. Though the straight up WiiMote style is kind of tempting to take a whirl at. :3

I'm getting confused. I don't want to keep posting in two threads. If this one isn't supposed to be used, I hope it gets closed, otherwise, someone let me know where to post! I think we're supposed to keep all Dojo update discussion to this thread:

http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=2450748#post2450748

But then, what about that Gooey Bomb thread? Did that ever get closed? Probably not, but I'm not sure.

Hmm, now since the Gamecube controller is supposed to work best for competitive gaming, does anyone know where I can get an orignial GC controller, because it seems as if they don't sell them anymore and I don't want this remake crap...
