I was sitting in bed today, and I decided to log onto Smashboards to pass some time on this boring vacation I'm on, when I saw something amazing. I did my routine checks of all the interesting forums, when I saw it. I was in the Light House, just casually looking at all the usual threads when something at the top of my screen caught my eye. I looked up and saw what many Zelda fans had been hoping for since the old days, a Zelda subforum.

I am now entirely convinced that Smashboards is the pimpinest forum ever.

Well guys, Smash Bros is a fighting game with aaall the major Nintendo characters duking it out in a mayhem filled slugfest. So, since characters from all franchises are present, are we're all big Nintendo nerds, wouldn't it be natural that we'd want to discuss our favourite games in their own section?

That and we don't like leaving SWF. SWF is the only forum I've actually stayed on, all other video game forums are trash.

Metroid board

The only general Metroid thread I've ever seen died about a year ago. Even as a die-hard Metroid fan I doubt Metroid will ever get a sub-forum. At best there will be a general "Main Nintendo Franchises" sub-forum, and I don't see that happening either.

Anyways, I'm mostly happy about this. I can actually discuss Zelda now, since the Zelda thread pretty much allowed no room for discussion other than timeline speculation/upcoming game speculation.

I'm more of a Sony fan myself It makes sense, I suppose. But I wouldn't really worry about subforum-overload unless they started up a Pikmin section.

So what is it then? Just because it isn't BlazBlue or some other gay 2D fighter ******** doesn't mean it isn't a fighting game.

What Hylian said, definitely. There are a good number of us here who want to discuss Zelda games, and we've outgrown our one thread, so it's a nice thing for them to give us our own room. It doesn't get in the way of anyone who doesn't like Zelda, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

The way I see it, there could have been several contributing factors to the addition of the board.

-high demand
-amount of LoZ discussion warranted the board
-SWF is against you and non-LoZ lovers

I find it hard to stay in other video game forums too. Other are too specific that they finish discussing the game and probably end up dying or the more broad ones tend to be of less quality than this.
