hey everyone if you've been to youtube and found someone named Crappycapture device (who does the history of video game stages and moves in melee) then you should have some sorta idea on what i'm about to do here.

Now we don't know everyone's final smash so duh we won't have them all but some can be covered and discussed.

History behind Yoshi's final smash

As told by smash dojo's website. Yoshi's final smash consists of Yoshi growing wings from his back.

This Final smash was originally done in Super mario world for the Snes.
When Green, blue, yellow, or red Yoshi ate the wings that came from the ? box (noticed the most in chesse bridge area) They grew wings and flew to the top of the sky. Thus according to the pictures he can fly around the field for a period of time.

Yoshi's fireballs is refrence from when Yoshi(all colors) would eat the red or Super koopa troopa(all color turtle shell) and spit it back out. 3 fireballs would be replaced and come out of yoshi's mouth but because this is brawl they only reduced it to one fireball blast per shot or if you want you can also shoot a complete blaze like bowser.

History behind Donkey kong's final smash.
Although in the smash dojo website they refer the bongo's from donkey konga that's not where the oringinal attack originated from. In Donkey kong 64 when donkey kong entered Aztec desert he found candy kong for the very first time and was able to get the bongo's. we don't know what will be played during this time though as theres no clips to prove it in action but that's donkey kong's final smash in a nutshell.

History behind Pikachu's Final smash.
Pikachu's is a bit diffrent versus everyone else. Now i'm not sure if his final smash volt tackle debuted in Pokemon games or was it in the anime first but like pichu's stats i'm going with the anime on this one.

History behind Link's final smash
Again like pikachu's not much can be said here. His final smash is mainly a barrage of normal attacks but it is theorized with being trapped in the trifoce could be of a slight refrence to oot. where Ganon was trapped inside of the triforce.

History behind Mario's final smash
Remeber all those times when you grabbed a fireflower as many times as possible....well looks like it payed off for mario in a big way. Taken from the SMB series completly mario combines his firepower skills and shoots a massive ray of fire towards the enimes.

Those are all the final smashes i can think of. Comment and discuss.

Pikachu's final smash is actually the signature move of Pulseman ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulseman ) Just thought i'd point that out to ya ;)

Wikipedia:
Pulseman's signature move, Volteccer, is a secret move that can be taught to Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu in Pokémon Emerald. It's known as "Volt Tackle" in the English language version of the game. The move also appears as Pikachu's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

the move is a trebute to GameFreak First video game character; Pulseman.

The move is completely made up, it didn't appear or have similar appearance in any Zelda game (take this from a Zelda fan). Oh and Ganon wasn't trapped by the Triforce in OOT, that was Zelda's\sages magic.

Interesting...about pikachu's final smash I mean. I suppose you're just hypothesizing that right? I don't remember it being announced. Plus I never even knew that attack existed...

Well, I was shocked that the Volt Tackle is nothing like the one from the Anime... then again, the anime's totally different from the game.

It's awesome that Game Freak's repping itself. Drill Dozer for Brawl,

Volt Tackle is not based on Pulseman. It's Pika's signature move, which can only be acquired through some skillful breeding. Volt Tackle is based on the attack from the Pokemon games, not Pulseman.

Fair enough idea for a topic, but it lacks any sort of polish.

Tidy up your post, present it better, possibly with pictures, different fonts and colours, links to videos etc. Make more of an effort...

Yes that is true. BUT the volt tacke from the Pokemon games is based on Pulseman so technically it is from Pulseman.

That's the first time i've seen volt tackle was from the anime. plus i didn't know about the sega game. heck all i played was sonic on it .

Well, I was shocked that the Volt Tackle is nothing like the one from the Anime... then again, the anime's totally different from the game.

The reason why i thought it was from the anime because if you remember in melee. Pichu's stats was from the anime as well. When Pichu shocked itsself it gave damage.

It's awesome that Game Freak's repping itself. Drill Dozer for Brawl,
Ah good idea why not try making them into Videos (With the pics provided) like CCD?
I may actually try that but not until there are more final smashs out there. there's not enough for a full presentation.

Volt Tackle is not based on Pulseman. It's Pika's signature move, which can only be acquired through some skillful breeding. Volt Tackle is based on the attack from the Pokemon games, not Pulseman.
I bet you most pokemon fans without a internet or something like that first saw it on the anime or if they got lucky would be in pkmn emerald.

Yes that is true. BUT the volt tacke from the Pokemon games is based on Pulseman so technically it is from Pulseman.
I agree with that one as well.

well kirby Final Smash came from one of his GBA games.

Actually Kirbys final smash came from Kirby superstar. Although i really don't know what effect it displays in Super smash bros brawl. In KSS Kirby put random things into the pot and it became food afterwards where kirby regained his health.

How does Volt Tackle look in Battle Revolution?
That's a good question wish i had the game so i could find out for myself.

History Lesson!

Time for some video game history boys and girls.

Kirby's Final Smash

While it's still not confirmed we've seen a picture of it in one of the previews. It was a brief shot but enough to tell us what it is. For those who haven't seen it; Kirby, sporting a Chef's Hat and soup spoon stands above a massive cauldron. Inside our good friend Mario is just coming to that right boil ;)

This power first appeared in "Kirby Super Star" on the SNES. When Kirby ate the Chef enemy he gained the cook ability. Kirby then could summon his cauldron and drag all enemies on screen into it. Turning them into a veritable smorgasbord of tasty treats which he could consume to heal himself.

Looking at the history we can make some interesting guesses on what game effects Kirby's Final Smash might do. It seems likely that it will have a healing effect on Kirby, potentially a very large one. It's unlikely that it will be a multi hit though, the picture we saw of it seemed pretty clear that it was affecting only one person.

Pit's Final Smash

First off Pit's Smash is awesome, and totally ingenious.

*ahem* It of course comes from the one and only game Pit is in, "Kid Icarus". As Pit traversed the underworld he would come across hammers. While seemingly useless at first when Pit entered a castle (Boss Stage) he found the Warriors of Palutena frozen in stone. With a crack of a hammer he could free each one. Then when Pit finally encountered the Boss of the castle he would be backed up by the warriors.

I never imagined that they would have brought all this into the game, but it really makes Pit final smash stand out.

Since it has all ready been announced there's no guesses to be made about it, but I do believe that it's appearance means the Hammer might also make a comeback perhaps as Pit's forward B.

Ok I'm sick of talking. Hope you've all enjoyed.

Bowser's Final Smash: Giga Bowser Transformation

Not all that much to say for this one, as Giga Bowser himself is a character wholly unique to the series. Super Smash Bros. Melee marks his first appearance in any media.

Okay.. Final Smash: <Volt Tackle> is from Pokemon. It's Pikachu's "secret" signature move, obtainable only in Pokemon Emerald version (with a few exceptions). Not so secret now, thanks to the internet.

It's "secret" because it is a blatent homage to Game Freak's first game, Pulseman. They simply renamed "Volteccer" to "Volt Tackle". It's very obviously the same attack, just look at the Pulseman YT video and then the Raichu in Pokemon Emerald using it. Same attack! The character charges forward in a ball of pure energy.

The Smash Brawl version of Volt Tackle just emphasizes the Pulseman origins even more, since now you can move and bounce around while performing it.... just like in pulseman.

There's a lot of discrepency over that in this thread, and I felt like clearing it up.

This is a fun thread, let's keep it going. Yoshi's Final had me confused for a bit since I haven't seen the wings in such a long time :) But then I realized yes, it's a big SMW treatment.

I'm looking forward to details on Kirby's. Maybe it's more than just the Cook ability?

Well actually you can see in the screenshots that the bongos that DK beats on is the gamecube bongos that were used for the horrible Jungle Beat and Konga games. It looks heaps different from his DK64 bongos.

Brawl (man he looks like a ******)

Konga Peripheral Bongos (still looks like a tool)

I'll get a pic of the DK64 ones in a minute

good info there, Jed.

just one thing, though. there was a second Kid Icarus game for the Game Boy, called Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. Pit also starred there.

It's short, but it's there. ;) Not much else to say about Giga Bowser anyway, unless you wanted to get into how you get a chance to fight him and all that.

Brawl's Volt Tackle looks a lot more like Pulseman's Volteccer than pokemanz emerald's Volteccer.

FALSE! BULL EVEN!

Just look at Mario's moveset. Better yet, the following analogies with make everything crystal clear:

Mario is to Fireball as Ryu is to Hadoken.(Fireball)

Mario is to Mario Tornado as Ryu is to Tatsumaki Senpu Kyaku. (Hurricane Kick)

Mario is to Super Jump Punch as Ryu is to Shoryuken. (Dragon Punch)

and finally....

Mario is to Final Smash as Ryu is to Shinku Hadoken. (Marvel vs. Capcom series)

So yeah......

I wouldn't be surprised if Pikachu's Volt Tackle came from Pulseman. The games have much in common.

Pulsman:

Rotom, a pokemon said to be based on Pulsman:

Doc Waruyama

Giovanni

Music:
CL Architecture
Ancient Pokemon Battle - is said to be a loose remix

There are more, but these are all I could find. It's no suprise, I mean both the creator and music composer of Pokemon were the creators of Pulseman.

Kirby's Final Smash:

I played a lot of old school kirby, particularly Kirby Superstar for the SNES. I recognize his super smash as the special one time ability he gained from devouring the Chef boss after he is defeated and about to explode.

Though, it doesn't show the aftermath in the trailer, from the original game on the SNES Kirby clicks his stirring utensils together as all enemies visible on the screen hop into the cauldron and seconds later pop back out as sweets and pastries to increase Kirby's stamina.

How close his final smash in brawl is to the original move I feel will determine how awesome it is :p I mean think of it, stewing a bowser for a nice bowl of turtle soup that not only takes one of his stalks but also decreases the % of damage? hahaha gg :p

This thread makes me want Pulseman in Brawl haha. Shame he appeared on the Max Drive and not a Nintendo console.
