title pretty much says it all.. lol

i dont know what im doin it wrong i use x to jump and i get it maybe once outa every 50 times i try it.

so is there an easier way to do it or just keep on practicing?

update: i tried 2/3's speed in training mode and i seem to be able to do it consistently, then i try normal speed and no luck.

As you know, jumping cancels the shine. Since you are holding down already for the shine, just keep holding down and do a "in place" wavedash (ie. air dodge directly down).

Keep trying to make the transition between the two until you finally get the hang of it, then you can start wavedashing sideways.

I actually found that doing it at slower speeds made it harder for me when I was learning. The biggest thing that helped me was working on my wavedashing so that I could do a perfect wavedash everytime without shielding at the end or going short etc.

just practice practice practice, all you need to do is muscle memorise what your doin, and once you know what to do just do it as FAST as you can...
check out the one in my sig if you want it goes into slow motion it mite help you see just how fast you actually have to use your fingers....
i use x to jump myself, this makes it slower yes but u just have to keep pushing, keep tryin to speed it up

First get your wavedash down, makes life a lot easier. Than try and get a double shine down. After that, substitute a wavedash for the shine. If that is to hard, than practice wavedashing straght down(you won't move from your position), than try going diagonal during the airdoge. After you do that, try waveshining back and forth FD, until you can do it flawlessly. And then try SHFFL'ing, SHL'ing, smashing, etc... into the waveshine. And than you should be able to do a waveshine pretty well.

Lol.

Why the hell would he try to get the double shine down? Its difficult to do and too situational.

The timing for Fox's wavedash is really easy. Because he jumps so fast, you need to airdodge (by pressing either L or R all the way down) just as fast.

Just crouch and tilt the control stick diagonally, and practice hitting X+R or X+L so that you slide across the ground. If you airdodge, that means you aren't pressing the shield button fast enough.

Once you can wavedash its easy. Just press down+b, then wavedash, and soforth.

listen to this lad he knows whats going on...
it really is just practice....
but the best advice i can actually give would be to press l or r for the wavedash Directly after (i ussually tell noobs to try to press them the same time for fox),
but i think youve got everything out of asking people that you can, it is just practice from here.

another thing is to stay calm... i found that if you go crazy and try to press too many buttons too fast you'll mess up and end up double jumping or something... try it in training mode 1st, give yourself time and separate the shine from the wavedash and work on closing the gap

Doubleshine CAN be useful, its situational like RaynEx said but it has some use. As in when people (like marth) try to grab you out of your WD back from a shine you can doubleshine, letting the second shine come out and hit them. (I find it works more against better players, because they know to shield the aerial and the shine then let go).

Also Doubleshinespikes are awesome.

lol...only taki would say that.

I played M2k so much in Georgia last weekend. I think double-shining would have actually come in handy. I'll settle for shine->sh shine though.
