When going from shine to B air a lot of the times I get stuck in shine, is it because I'm jumping too fast from my shine hitstun? (which I think is the case) And I'm positive I'm not turning around when I'm shining

Which the same problem applies to shine OOS Bair really fast and I always get stuck in shine

I've always used X for every jump but a friend of mine told me to try up with the gray stick but I still get stuck in shine

I can't really try and do it slower, so is it me jumping too quickly or something else thanks

//edit// how do yall shine oos bair?

so youve already rejected all the (correct) advice we can give you... how about just doing it slower so it works? is that really impossible?

Just wondering if it was me jumping too quickly or something else that I don't know about

But yea I realize I just have to get the timing down better thanks

Are you turning around in shine (asking anyway) or not moving and getting stuck in the shine?

If using X/Y and getting stuck without turning around, you're trying to jump too fast or too slow. Or you're missing the button completely.

^ But using control stick, same deal.

Solution: Practice just full hopping out of grounded shine. Work your way down to short hops.

If you're turning around in your shine using X/Y, you're probably pressing them too fast/late in conjunction with moving your control stick to the bair direction too soon. If you turn around before jumping, the timing becomes way tighter.

^This with the control stick - ...Just don't try it that way.

Solution: Practice just full hopping out of grounded shine. Work your way down to short hops. Go to training mode if you have to and slow down the time to work on the rhythm of it.

What I do: Depending on what I'm doing beforehand, I shine, SH with Y and Bair with A. If I'm doing like an aerial shine > bair, I usually shine, control stick Up and C-stick bair.

I am having trouble with my timing as well for shine > bair, but your post makes sense I was probably trying to cancel the shine too fast. I learned about shine > bair from a tutorial video (it seemed up to date) and he said that shine > full hop > bair, can be done at almost any % if your fingers are fast enough, but it sounds like your saying you can short hop it as well. So should I practice shine > short hop > bair? I can already short hop out of shine easily so changing it from a full hop to a short hop probably won't be an issue.

I'm sorry if this post is a little confusing, I'm a bit of a novice with falco atm and i'll try doing what you do for shine bair because it sounds easier then what I was doing before.

shine --> full hop --> bair is very DIable

It wont matter how quick you are because if you are going to shine someone on the ground and then jump, you will stay grounded for several frames before your jump kicks in. During that time he can easily DI the shine. Same goes with if you are trying to short hop after a shine from the ground because the start up lag from jumping is still the same and they can DI during that time.

shine > short hop > bair wont be too legit unless you are doing a late bair or something during shield pressure because it feels like a rising bair during shield pressure sucks unless you shield poke them

O I think I understand it know. I feel stupid hence the title of the thread shine OOS. Meaning the shine > bair will be off a jump. I still should practice that. Thanks
