Vs. Peach, I've mostly played the other end of the matchup, and can give you better advice for that. Basically Peach will try to diagonal approach you a lot. You'd want to prevent her from doing so. Click on my sig, it'll bring you to my youtube page. I have vids of my Peach vs. Olimar.

Vs. Falco: Use your tilts more, especially dtilt. His range is more than it looks like it is, so be careful. Abuse your range.

In general: Spacing, timing, and accuracy are desperately needed. You need to learn how to make the most out of your range, which is one of Olimar's main advantages against anyone. Things like spacing your character as far away from your opponent as the furthest distance you can currently grab from before grabbing. (different pikmin have different grab ranges) There's no need to be right on top of them to grab every time you want to do so. And with accuracy, only do an attack when you have a purpose of doing so. Don't spam randomly, time your attacks. Learn the range differences on the different colors, and use this to your advantage. Also, roll a lot less. Walking, dashing, and jumping are usually better options to allow yourself space.

Ok Listen Dont Be fooled By the Smash Noob Status. For I have just made a new account from neoseeker.
Ok So lets move on Your olimar needs some help. I can tell you this because my olimars is amazing ^_^
(Seriously) Ok In the peach match stop throwing all your freakin Pikiman. If one hits the enemy is it that much of a damage diffrence If 3 of them are on there. The answer is no. Since threee of them are on peach or who ever one major hit destroys all of them leaving you with fewer. Try to always have a white one and purple one. Now grabing. Olimar has one of the best quickest long range grabs. Unlike samus who has a 4 second recoil afterwards. When u grab someone dont throw them to the left or right. Either throw the down or up. If u throw them to the side where is ur next hit? U dont have one. When throwing them down jump up and use side A to what ever direction there in. Now for recovery never give up when someone is edge grabbinig. U Hope u saved a puple pikmin like I told u to rotate to get It by using down b and throw that bad boy. Hurry and and use up B and get back on. Never fight on and edge with oli. Lastly when ur in the air fall down next to the enemy and use down B. I hope since u use Olimar U know what thats used for. It takes damage from an enemy but doesn't knock u away. Hurry and use your side A and there sent flying. Repeat this process until u are comfortable with making a different strategies ^_^ This Is not really a stategie but a tuorial Of Olimar ^_^

it seems like everytime you dthrow, u try to upsmash right after. you could probably try to fair, or uair after dthrows. mix it up a bit.

and yea, try to work on your spacing a bit. olimar's attacks arent really short range. you can do damage from farther away than the falco can, so just try to back off him a bit.

not too bad though

You're Emmy? :o Cool! I actually fav'd some of your Peach vids a week or so ago. And I will definitely focus on using my tilts more. Olimar has really good tilts. But thanks, that's really helpful. Spacing is something I'm awful at right now, but those tips kinda help me see what I should do. I guess I just need to practice a crapload more.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought Falco's aeriels had better priority over Olimar's? I tried to use Fair when I could, but usually his aeriels go right through my Pikmin.

Thanks, I'm very familiar with these techniques, but I need a lot of practice to get better with them. Of course I know about Olimar's super armor frames. The whistle is amazing. ^_^

Good idea! I used to use mainly Fairs following a dthrow, but then my friends wised up to that, so I switched to Usmashes. Uairs sound really good though. I'll try to be a little more defensive, but the space animals are so ugly, I have to attack. Thanks for helping me out. :)

As has been already said, working on spacing and mix up your attacks a bit. You only used a few attacks. Also, when grabbing, try to attack once or twice to bring down diminishing returns on your other attacks. When throwing Pikmin, I've noticed it's best to generally short hop so you can control where they go a bit better than when you're on the ground and you can move backwards while throwing them.

Pay more attention to the Pikmin in your line; notice how many you have of each colour and the order they're in. This can help to setup different attacks. Remember what each colour Pikmin is strong at, for example: blue can usually kill with b-throw and purple with u-throw.

And as Rapid stated, roll less. It's predictable and easy to attack through.

Things to follow up from Dthrows; Fair, Up+B, Walk foward, Dsmash (Usually critical hit!), Walk/run foward up smash. Stand still fsmash.

Didn't watch videos, too late/early. Took it from everyone else.
Falco's Bair>Most pikmin air moves. Try Uair as your major air move when it's not a follow up.

EDIT:: Diagonal approachers? You have a 45* angle move called up+b..

Up b is good sometimes if they diagonal approach. But they'll expect it, and because it leaves you open bait you to do it. Against diagonal approachers I like to go in the air sometimes. They can't hit me if I'm not where they want me to be.

First I need to agree with everyone else and say using his aerial gane is big. But my advice is use his Usmash very sparingly...it is one of his most reliable kill moves, and what might have killed someone may not do the job if you use his Usmash too much. So what I say is, when you would use an Usmash, just use f-air or something.

I've been trying this against my friends and it's been working great! I'm much more proficient at SHing and Olimar's Fair is one of my fav attacks now. Whacking Peach in the face with a mutant plant baby is so satisfying.

Also been working on with good results. :) It's so beastly before getting decayed!

EDIT: Thanks everyone for your help so far! It's been really awesome to get some good advice and I hope you guys will continue giving me some pointers when I get new vids up sometime in the future. :D

Don't be afraid to use your Up+B to edgehog. For instance, vs. Falco, instead of standing still waiting for him to come back, you can quickly run off, up+B to tether onto the ledge, and laugh.

I watched your peach game and i must say you use alot of smash attacks, try his nairs and fairs, they are effective. Also try to throw in some tilts, it will make your moves seem less obvious and predictible.

Peach's floaty attacks were causing you the most trouble in that match. Whenever anyone is approaching you from the air like that, break out the UpB. They think they're invincible because you can't grab them but Olimar's UpB can cut through anything.

As for the Falco match, people have said spacing, and what I think that means is regrouping after you've been successfully attacked. It's hard because he's a quick target, but once you have them at a little distance you can line them up for a grab or fsmash instead of flailing in the fray a little. good work.

Good idea, thank. :) The more I play Olimar, the less frightened of being off the edge I've become. I even edgehogged the ZSS several times in our match.

Will do. Olimar's tilts are so fast. I've started using his ftilt more, but I will try to force myself to break out of the smashing habit.

use more aerial and grab.. UR GREAT
Thanks. :bee: I am working my best to make sure I grab the opponent more times than they can count.

I've been scared to use the UpB because it's start-up lag. The Peach attacks too quickly for my brain! But I will tyr to surprise her with an UpB because she does approach me horizontally most of the time. And for Falco, I agree. I've done much better against this guy lately (though I have no videos :(). Thanks a lot for the advice! :) Nothing's more pressuring than a ****** with an army.
