i don't exactly understand what u just said, but as long as i didn't offend anybody and im not going to be flamed in the near future, it's all ok with me. anyway, maybe the joke was spread from me so far that it reached him so that it is actually a compliment for him to be using it. who knows?

anyway, hopefully this has given people a good idea of how to handle a fox. i'll know where to come to if i ever need help with this. =)

He didn't talk about you any but he stole your line is what I said in blunt terms.

And yes, I'm sure of it. most of the good marth players put their 2 cents in.

SHFLLing fairs and nairs helps me get a fox outta my face. I wouldn't do it long range though as you should watch out getting ***** raw by lasers.

Shffling fairs and nairs usually get you grabbed + uair combo'd. That is unless you're talking about retreating, where it wouldn't really matter.

Frostbyte, shffling fairs and nairs won't get you grabbed if you know how to space.

But don't do it for no reason like most marths do, I don't jump unless I have a reason.

if the fox has enough damage and u got decent knockback u could use fairs and nairs. it also dpends on what part of the stage ur on and spacing and other little things. i may be wrong though cuz i don't have many friends that play fox.

Proper Spacing of areials alone isn't enough to avoid a grab vs faster characters who can dash dance. You might space a standing/pursuing aerial, but fox will dash back, forward and brab/aerial. What you do after is more important. Dodge, roll, retreat, attack.

I've never been grabbed by a fox that way because I don't just do one little aerial and back off, if hes dash dancing, I'm going to make sure something hits.

I don't look at it as this "make sure you be ready for a counter-attack" I look at it as "make sure you don't give them much chance to try anything"

besides, I said not without a reason, besides, majority of the time you can still grab them as they reach you after the aerial if you spaced it well.

Yeah, Frostbyte, why would you stop to act defensive after an aerial when, if you L-canceled correctly (which I hope you do), you could go in for a grab or U-tilt which could lead into a combo. Also, if you're getting read to the point where an opponent knows when to dash in and out of your range, then you're probably much to predictable in your playing style.

1) Fox's grab is faster than Marth's utilt. If Marth misses the utilt (or any other mid-high lag attack), the lag on it will **** him.

2) If you've been grab camped before, you'd know how annoying it is. Watch how m2k plays in tourney matches vs fox or falcon. He dashes back after areials and dtilts. Why? You tell me. Is he missing L-cancels?

He dashes back to bait grabs and take advantage of his opponents attempts to punish him. Marth is so good at dash mix-ups after aerials and d-tilts.

this isn't exactly foolproof, but on a more newbish fox u could waveland from the aerial to throw off the grabs timing. if everything goes as planned u could probly take advantage of the missed grab. i don't know if this works, just an idea.
