Help against falco?

So I have been struggling recently against falco, with one set up in particular. He will short hop laser into side smash. If I shield the laser, I'm stuck in shield stun and there's a good chance the side smash will still hit me through shield. If I don't shield but get hit by the laser, I'm stunned and then get side smashed. Is there a way around it or am I doing something wrong here?

You could do a shine out of shield if you time it right, but what Sean de Lure said is probably a better idea
