Do you mean Snake's quick, repetitive neutral As? This occurs even if you just hold down the A button without pressing any other buttons. It's useful in some situations, such as stopping a character with a rolling attack (Sonic, Jigglypuff, etc.) from hitting you. This isn't a new find, though.
