Has Sakurai ever stated that he is taking the competetive community into account?

I believe Sakurai is all about the accessibility impact when it comes to gamers. He's the type of developer who tries to cater to all of his fans, no matter casual or competitive.

The only real exception in regards to the games he's created is Brawl, which was casual heavy, and I put more of the blame on how casual friendly the Wii was.

I mostly agree, though I do still think it's his fault since it was ultimately his decision to make it so casual friendly.

However, I do think people need to remember that Sakurai isn't approaching this game the same way he did Brawl, so assuming that he has the same mentality is just silly. Of course everyone knows that the hardcore/competitive players aren't the first thing on his mind, but they weren't back in Melee either, so hope should remain at the very least neutral.

Brawl vs Melee will never die down lol

Am I one of the few people who love both directions the games took? Not to mention, Brawl and Melee are both one of my favorite games of all time.

I understand the hate that... well, hate, makes you feel. But like you said, he'll continue to insult it at every opportunity and you'll continue to defend it in a way that others find equally argumentative. Better for everyone to just let it go. Or take it to PM if you need to hash it out.

I don't see this thread providing much discussion save for "Melee sucks", "Brawl sucks", "SSB4 needs to be Melee V 2.0" and so on. So before it escalates further, this will be closed. It had a good discussion going at first but.....the above posts is a clear indication that this thread isn't going to improve any time soon.
