Modified Japanese Ruleset
BASIC RULES
3 stocks
10-minute timer
No items
Team attack on
Pause off
Double-elim bracket
All sets Best of 3 (with winners, losers, and grand finals BO5)
LIMITING RULES
No modified controllers
No using infinites for stalling purposes (CGs etc limited to 300%)
No Infinite Dimensional Cape
Only one Meta Knight is allowed per team
40 Ledge grab limit per character
*No scrooging (player may travel under the stage once from the ledge)
*Scrooging is defined as traveling under the stage from one ledge to the other. The player may only do this once unless they land on the stage or percents change. Landing on a platform does not count as landing on the stage.
SET FORMAT
Game 1:
1. Players select their characters (players may elect to have a double-blind character selection)
2. Stage-striking order and controller ports are determined by Rock-Paper-Scissors
3. The loser of RPS strikes a stage from the starter list, followed by the RPS winner.
Game 2 (and so on):
1. Loser may select controller port
2. Winner may ban a stage, which cannot be played in the set
3. Loser selects a stage
4. Winner chooses character
5. Loser chooses character
6. Repeat steps 1-5 until the set is decided

TIMEOUTS
In the event that a match goes to time, the victor will be decided by the following steps, in order:
1. Number of ledgegrabs (if one player exceeds 40 ledgegrabs, that player will be declared the loser)
2. Number of remaining stocks
3. Amount of damage percent
4. If stocks and damage percent identical, the match will be replayed on the same stage, with each player at one stock.
The TO reserves the right to remove any player from the venue for any reason.
