Anyone here play hacky sack? I play every once in a while and by once in a while I mean for a few minutes every day in Ancient History. I don't remember my record, it wasn't that great though probably around sixty. What's everyone's records?

Hacky Sack....is awesome. But juggling with a soccer ball takes precedent in Oz.

well, in high school i played a lot of soccer so i was pretty descent and juggling and i could do over 300 with the soccer ball. As for the hacky sack, I made it to 167 and got kinda tired so i just stopped. I could never hit it with the side of my shoe. It was always with the top like if it was a soccer ball.

Hackey Sack improved my soccer skills immensely. I'm not terribly good at it with the little bag of beans, but it's fun all the same. I probably got around 20 at my best.

I'm terrible at Hacky Sack. Back in High School though it was interesting to watch a group of teenagers playing it at Breakfast Break. (If the school had good behavior everyone got 10 minutes to just hang out and go buy snacks after the first class.) Eventually Hacky Scack got taken away though because it was a distraction or something like that (Whatever that's suppose to mean). These kids would go on with it for a long time though. Eventually other groups started playing and it became a fad. If I'd been good I would have played, but I'd just kill off every rally getting started. Not sure what the highest count was though. Just watched it here and there for entertainment.

Okay people, is Hacky Sacky an actual sport? or is it something related to Soccer? I ask because i've never heard of such a term, at least back when I was in High School, so....

It's neither, really.
It's just an activity kids do. Like at recess or during lunch or something.
There is a sport called footbag which is related to hacky sack but is more complex. here is an example of a footbag match. Pretty cool stuff, basically volleyball but with a hacky sack

I'm no good at Hacky Sack, but back in elementary school (around grade 5) I was ok at it. (maybe 40) I remember my friend went all recess and got like 500.

Thats all we did at school during breaks. We'd sometimes skip class to play. Our teachers joined in a couple times. Good memories.

for casual hacky sack you just get a circle of people and kick the hacky sack around not letting it touch the floor. You can use your knee and anything below. a fun game some people, including myself, like to play is 3 hack smack where once the hacky sack is hit three times someone can smack it into another person. If it hits them they have an out and after 3 outs they sit out.

With the 3 hack smack after 3 the third time can the person pick up the hacky sack with their hand and hit somebody with it full blast? One of my friends a few years back taught me a game something similiar to this that he played during break periods in high school. Instead of getting 3 lives though if you were hit once than you were out. I never actually witnessed this; just heard about it.
