no tripping should become standard in every tourny or at least the last few rounds but is this right that we have to hack the game and its perfectly legal? i feel werid about it all watching vids from a big md/va tourny Brawl til you fall, m2k and other good players were using music hacks, and the one i question the most texture hacks. can we allow the texture or chars to be changed? i know they most likely wont affect any frame/ hitboxes but they do look really good. what can we consider normal and standard as far as hacks go to most big legal tournies

Music hacks, texture hacks, infinite replays, and tags in replays should be considered standard, maybe not texture hacks since sometimes they freeze the game. The next step would be the Pokemon trainer hacks, and no tripping, since they change very minor things abotu the game but they change something nonetheless. Other than that, no hacks should be allowed. (At least for what they have now.)

I'm not sure which Pokémon Trainer hacks you are talking about, but all of the ones used have significant impacts on gameplay. Removing stamina or forced switching change the trainer by a very large amount. Not that I don't think the change is warranted considering the strength of the character, but you can't really argue that it should be included on the merit of the idea that the difference is negligible.

AFAIK the only crashes that remain from texture hacks are those caused by incorrectly made textures. I believe some people are considering using them as a fix for Chibo's Colour Rule (or whatever it's called).

The only reason I said the PT hacks aren't that big a deal, is that the three Pokemon aren't too great alone either. (Except for Squirtle in a few match-ups IMHO.) I personally do not think it should be implemented, but I know some TOs don't mind it. (At least in FL.)

The game only freezes from bad textures? If only there was a list of the ones that don't affect it. It seems like a good idea to use them with the color rule thing.

i think that scotu's exbrawl is a good standard. with infinite replays, custom css and textures possible. Maybe at least for like finals and stuff... the TO can use his one sd card to upload the hacks so no char buffs can be snuck in.

Music, tripping and replay hacks no one really should complain over. Texture hacks should be allowed as long as both players or teams agree with them. I'm hoping to see the stage hacks become a tournament standard.

The bolded part. We can't get away with ourselves - it would be all too easy to say, well as long as we're hacking why not just tweak this and tinker with this and this, and pretty soon we've ventured into the realm of engine modification and things that seriously affect gameplay.

As long as we're not overstepping our bounds, which we aren't doing with what everyone is suggesting, hacks can really only be an improvement, m i rite?

The only thing I want to be put for hacks Is on infinite replay and maybe actually balance out all the characters to be at the same playing level, as should MKs and such will take a step down while the likes of Pichus (just my term for lowtier in all games) should be rev'd up and initially everything in the end gets balanced.

=D well as long as its that^ then hacks are allowed IMO
