I hope so as well as, being a Nintendo Fan since birth, I greatly anticipate some nintendo pieces as bonus as well as downloadable songs.

there's no GH2 Wii. GH3 for the Wii, 360, and PS3 comes out this fall.

So GH3 will be for the Wii? Where'd you get the info? And I remember reading somewhere that they were releasing GHII for all next gen consoles.

I have GH2 on the PS2. It is awesome. My favorites are definently "Pshcyobilly Freakout", "Rock this town", "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "YYZ" I'm trying to get the last 2 unlockable Guitars in Expert mode, but I can only do so much >_>

My friend has GH2 for the 360, and we played it over last weekend. I must say, I was thrilled to see Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" in the playlist, as well as the Toadies "Possum Kingdom", Rick Deringer's "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" along with Rancid and Pearl Jam. What possesed Harmonix to put My chemical Romance in the game? The downloadables are definently a bonus. I would buy this, but my friend lives about 10 minutes away (and it has My Chemical Romance).

If I wante dto start a topic about speculation and hopes specifically for Guitar Hero III, should I post here, or start a thread specifically for GH 3?

Since there's no information on GH3 other than it's coming and being developed by the Tony Hawk guys, just go ahead and talk about it here for now.

And Dead! by My Chemical Romance is actually one of my favorite songs to play, especially in co-op. I'm not a fan of MCR, but the song is just one of those ones that is, well, fun.

I suppose I would like it more, if it weren't for the fact that They Might Be Giants released a song called "Dead", which, by coincidence I suppose, deals with a man on his deathbed, recalling his life and how no one loves seeing him as he died, and everyone dances on his grave when he is dead because no one cared. Unlike MCR, this doesn't sound like another one of their songs with a lyrics change or PAINFULLY make the point clear (it's there, bu more subtle). But then again, I guess the depressed 12 year old girls don't mind paying them for more emo-tastic songs and albums, so I suppose I shouldn't mind either:dizzy:

Use an overused theme to pull at the heartstrings of people, especially sensitive ones, use a track that sounds like a combination of other songs, and presto, an MCR song. In short, no matter how fun it is to play for some, I just don't like MCR.

As for GH3, new songs aside, how does anyone think gameplay will be enhanced?

I didn't think they could enhance it from GH1 to 2 and they did with the Pull-Off/Hammer-Ons.

I didn't have controls in mind, I meant like playing experience. I think it would be a good thing if you could customize your band, like outfits for the bassist and drummer (the singer, because they change depending on the song) or go through carrer mode playing secondary possision with bass or rythym guitar.

I was hoping you could unlock the bass player as a character, but sadly, you cannot:(

Great article about GH3 Wii. Includes mock-up controller pic.
Nice control design. I know that's not the real one, but still pretty **** good.

I wish I wish we could play Voodoo Child. How I love that song.

All along the watchtower is good enough though.
Oooh... Vodoo Child in GH. My favorite Jimi Hendrix solo is "The Star Spangled Banner" from Woodstock (the '69 one) personally.

I was thinking of some worthy material, and here is a short list

"Holy Diver" - Dio (from Holy Diver)
"The Beautiful People" - Marilyn Manson (from Antichrist Svperstar)
"Wanted Dead Or Alive" Bon Jovi (from Slippery When Wet)
"Ana Ng" They Might Be Giants (from Lincoln)
"Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2" - Pink Floyd (from The Wall)

That's just from the top of my head. There are plenty more.

That was SICK. That solo was MINDBLOWING.

I want "(We Are) The Road Crew" by Motorhead

It was in an interview somewhere, I saw it too. I dont know how it will work though, unless they get rid of chords. Its gonna be stupid though...

Yes we can is by far and away the worst song in the game

Official, you sure?

That's dumb.

I dunno, I'm not a fan of MCR, as I ranted back. It is by far the easiest in the game, with Heart Shaped Box coming in second.

I have the PS2 version, so I dunno about dead or w/e. But yeah, heart shaped is also easy, but still 20 times better than yes we can

Abra abra cadabra. I wanna reach out and grab ya!
Institutionalized is the worse song in the game. I not talking about difficulty or anything, it's just a really bad song.

Infect Me was the worst song in Guitar Hero 1

They need to put in:

Starship Trooper-Yes
Reelin' In The Years-Steely Dan
Blackbird-The Beatles
Roundabout-Yes

DS GH is not official. In fact, when it was announced for Wii, everybody pretty much threw away the thought that DS would have GH because of the nature of the article it was first seen in.

So the DS version ISN'T official? Good, IMO, that would be dumb.

Since when do Suicidal Tendencies = phail? I must have missed that.

Reelin' In The Years-Steely Dan
That would be so awesome it isn't even funny. Didn't Jimmy Page say that was his favorite solo?

Anyway, I though of some more songs

"Cant Repeat" - The Offspring (from The Offspring Greatest Hits)
"Far Beyond The Sun" - Yngwie Malmsteen (from Rising Force)
"Surfing With The Alien" - John Saitrani (from Surfing with The Alien)
"And Your Bird Can sing" - The Beatles (from Revolver)
"(Don't Fear) The Reaper" - The Blue Oyster Cult (from Agents of Fortune) <- GH needs some cowbell.
"Yankee Rose" - David Lee Roth (from Eat'em and Smile)

I should just make a giant list, like with encores and different sections and stuff.

I used to hate Institutionalized myself, but after I played it for a while, I actually realized that it's REALLY fun. Sure, the singing can be rather annoying, but the guitar work is awesome.

And just a neat little trick for you expert players out there. In the one section of Laid to Rest, near the end, you can strum once, and hammer on for about 2 minutes. Maybe have a drink while you're at it. It's pretty fun =P

Note: The 360 Version of the game has 5 songs then an encore, so 6 each section instead of 4 then an encore leading to 5 in the PS2 version. I'm guessing GH3 will be like that on all consoles

Bold means it's an encore performance

1: Opening Licks
1. "Welcome to The Jungle" - Guns N' Roses (from Apetite For Destruction)
2. "Holy Diver" - Dio (from Holy Diver)
3. "Electric Eye" - Judas Preist (from Screaming For Vengence)

5. "Yankee Rose" - David Lee Roth (from Eat 'Em and Smile
6. "Back in Black" - AC/DC (from Back In Black)

2: Amp-Warmers
1. "Ana Ng" - They Might Be Giants (from Lincoln)

1. "Venus" - Televison (from Marquee Moon)
2. "Shaman's Blues' - The Doors (from The Soft Parade)

5. "Cocaine" - Eric Clapton (from Slowhand)
6. "Under The Bridge" - Red Hot Chili Peppers (from Blood Sugar Sex Magik)

4: Trash And Burn
1. "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver" - Primus (from Sailing The Seas Of Cheese)
2. "Paranoid Android" - Radiohead (from OK Computer)
3. "So Says I" - The Shins (from Chutes Too Narrow)
4. "Geek U.S.A." - The Smashing Pumpkins (from Siamese Dream)
5. "Miss America" - Styx (from The Grand Illusion)

3. "Wanted Dead Or Alive" - Bon Jovi (from Slippery When Wet)
4. "Walk This Way" - Aerosmith (from Toys In The Attic)
5. "Sultans Of swing" - Dire Straits (from Dire Straits)
6. "All Along The Watchtower" - Jimi Hendrix Experience (from Electric Ladyland)

8: Face Melters
1. "Far Beyond the Sun" - Yngwie Malmsteen (from Rising Force)
2. "Walk" - Pantera (from Vulgar Display Of Violence)
3. "Crazy Train" - Ozzy Osbourne (from Blizzard Of Ozz)
4. "Bat Country" - Avenged Sevenfold (from City Of Evil)
5. "My Spirit Will Go On" - Dragonforce (from Sonic Firestorm)
6. "Master Of Puppets" - Metallica (from Master Of Puppets[/i])

There, there is my list. I admit it's kinda mediocre and slopily put together, but still.

I will take any advice, especially since some songs could fit into another area on the list. Please, no flames on my choice of music.

Ok we all know stairway has to be in, so thats a given. But isnt Detroit Rock City by Kiss? (Great movie by the way) And to tell you the truth, very few of these songs have change of gettting in, because they released these today.

The initial list of face-melting awesomeness includes:

* Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
* Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
* Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
* The Metal (by Tenacious D)
* My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
* Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
* Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
* School's Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
* Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
* Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
* Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

Thats taken exactly from scorehero, which im sure is taken from something else.

Detroit Rock City is by KISS, from the abum Destroyer. I originally had "Hollow" by Pantera, then I realized I had already put "Walk" on the 'must have for the list' list. I changed the name, but not the Artist and Album. Anyway, it was just a fan-list. My favorites from the REAL are "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Paint It Black".

And I was right, "Sabotage" is in! And "Cherub Rock" was one of the Smashing Pumpkins songs I were considering, but I like "Geek U.S.A." more, so I chose that.

This is a confirmed list or you made it up? Because I know Metallica didn't plan on letting any use their stuff without hefty licensing fee.

I LOVE GUITAR HERO! Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. Best thing I've done is 5-star "Carry Me Home" and "Psychobilly Freakout", both on expert.

I'm guessing you made this up. It's really good, but I'm not sure about putting DragonForce THEN Metallica. I mean sure, it's Metallica we're talking about, but then again, it's DragonForce we're talking about.

But overall very well made list.

Of course, I thought this was real for a second, and I was all "ZOMG DRAGONFORCE AND METALLICA ZOMG" But then I read your previous posts.

Yeah.

Meh i still have so much trouble on most of the expert level for GH2, i mess my fingers up.. and the sad part is I play real guitar in a rather successful band, its just that i'm so used to aiming for strings that just putting my whole finger over it is weird

^^^^ If you look at the first solo, you'll see that it's really just a bunch of GRGRGRGR
and RYRYRYRYRYRY and YBYBYBYBYBYBYBYBY and BOBOBOBOBOBOBOBO I just use two fingers (pointer and middle) on that part, in order to get the fastest movement possible.

Hope that helps.
