Well, it's about 12:30 am here, and I'm about 70% asleep here, and I'm probably going to go off on another negative nancy rant which I'll probably end up regretting in the morning.(well, y'know, the other morning)

But anyway, I need to get this crap off my chest. I hate guitar hero. Not because I'm one of those elitist people who play real guitars, and hate any fake video simulation whatsoever, no, because I'm almost the opposite of that...or something.
I've said this times before, but I'm a bemani fanboy, and bemani fanboys and guitar hero go together like, eh, somethings that don't go together. I've imported GuitarFreaks V2 and V3, and they're awesome. My friends who are all that with Guitar Hero and Rock Band come over, and when they play them, they're astonished by how hard it is. and it only has 3 frets!

and while you can attain some of the speeds of GF+DM in GH and RB at the higher levels, it's still a casually dumbed down version of said games. It's basically Brawl, but with Guit- I mean Soul Calibur III, but with Guitars.
BUT EVEN SO, GH is nothing more than a dumbed down foreign/local ripoff of a good japanese series, despite what GH fanboys think. Seriously, I can't seem to go on one GF Youtube video without some stupid Live*** saying "DEAR GOODNESS! THIS LOOKS LIKE A GUITAR HERO COPY WITH ANIMU! I CALL SHENANIGANS!" but with the spelling of an average pregant 5 year old on hippie herbs.

Of course, I'm just as angry at Konami as well. They had a giant buttload of money just waiting for them across the pond since 1998, but they decided to do absolutely nothing about it, keeping GF on that little island of theirs(and heck, Pop'n Music too! What, you're gonna wait until Pop'n Hero comes out too?) and just leaving us with a couple of DDR song packs. Seriously, did they really think DDR was all us Westerners care about!?
So, of course, some american music-game company (who actually works with them on Karaoke Rev. no less!)comes and steals all their potential money, most of which goes to... EEEECCCHHHH.... activision *shudders*.

but then FINALLY, they brought over GF, in the form of Rock Revolution. and not only do they completely half-*** it in every way, it keeps absolutely none of the charm of GF+DM, and replaces it with crappy covers of bad licensed songs, a crappy drum layout, and heck, they got rid of the awesome background videos! Now it's just some stupid 3-D people doing stuff. and you know why? Because the only point of this game was to capitalize on the success of GH and Rock Band.
Instead of pulling that crap, actually bring the GFDM series here, and have some dignity left.

and y'know, I probably sound like an elitist and stuff, and making a big deal out of absolutely nothing and I'm too tired to tell whether this was a rant against Harmonix, Konami, Fanboys, or Sauerkraut, but I end my pointless fanboy ramblings, and leave you with some GF awesomeness

I've seen vids of Pop'n'Music and Beatmania and I was like dang, when is that coming to America?!?!? Beatmania is out on PS2 but I heard it sucks. Now I've never seen Guitar Freaks but I have heard of it. Dunno if it's better than GH but I'll take your word for it.

In other words I don't blame you for feeling the way you do.

I'm not that fond of the music genre in general. But I don't think guitar hero is THAT bad.

(Just cuz it's western and you fanboys can't like anything unless it's in ***-) NO! Stop.....Happy place....No mean words, mister.....

I saw DrumMania in an arcade in Morecambe when I went there a few years ago, but I never tried it.

I enjoyed Guitar Hero 2, and especially On Tour (mainly due to the fact it had less covers, and you don't have to take it out of the box and wrap it back up again each time you play it), but these games actually look really fun, although I'd fail at them miserably .

It has a pretty poor choice of songs, but I'd say it's okay, at least much better than that Rock Revolution Butchery.

I don't really think GH is terrible as a game either, but I'm just saying its not as good as GF, which deserves a lot more credit in the west, which is unfortunately overshadowed by it's Western clone.
