Ok, so don't you wish you knew HOW exactly skilled you are? Sometimes you pretend as if you are in an rpg and just get more experience if you play better people... But you don't know what LEVEL you are at...

I then remembered the S.A.T's... and they rate you on how good you did, but COMPARED to others who did worse than you... so you were given a percantile.

Of course, for us to know our skill, we would need people MUCH better than us, and people worse than us. Why? So that we know that we might be better than the person who is worse than us, but not than the person better than us... I'll give an example:

the worst person is #16, and the best is #1. Without number #1, the people above #1 would only know they are better than #16 (or 3, if they are 2, but still) and we know that we are better than some people, but we don't know HOW much better. ( if you beat #3, you'd become #2, but if #16 beat you, then you'd probably become #16 or something, but you still have 14 others to play! You still have a chance to see how good you are compared to them) I mean, we know we can pwn our little cousins and such, but we actually want to know who we are in between.

thing is, we'd need to play EACH other, not just two people...

If something like that COULD happen, I don't think there should be friendlies. Would need all the time for playing each other.

Also, you wouldn't play for money. (or maybe still, I don't know) But at least you would have to pay for venue fee. (or not if it's a smashfest)

Also, would you guys think something like this COULD effect your ranking (not PR, but just like, your skill for being seeded at least)

Also if we were just playing to see how skilled we are compared to others (I can't tell if I play two people, but people better than me that do have like more matches probably know how much better they are than others) would the BEST person there not feel like playing if THERE WASN'T a pot?

Should there be a pot? : 3

And, we would probably have to have 1 match as a warm up, than 2/3 for everyone. Sure it would be tedious, but it could help to see where you are exactly.

i need lots of warm ups lol.

also for the record, cactuar said the best enviornment for increasing skill is with someone ur level for competition and whatnot, a pro to point out ur flaws, and a scrub to practice the basics and creativity.

i dont have a scrub tho.. i mean john had alicia, bobby/matt had stango, and i had nobody. thats why my basics kinda suck.

True, but I was thinking of something where that you would play EVERYONE (if there is a total of 16 people) and not just bracket. Like if M2k would place first, then obv you'd lose and WOULDNT be #1, but if you beat everyone else, you'd be #2, so compared to them, your skill would probably higher than theirs but lower than M2k's.

But yeah on what you said, I don't really have a scrub myself. We just need to go to some college and find a game lounge, put melee in and see if there are scrubs or something.

Cactuar definitely is one of the greatest people to play if you need someone to point out problems in your game play. I used to roll away from the edge EVERY TIME, until he turned around and waited for me to do it and then up smashed me about a MILLION TIMES. Now I can't help but notice even people much better than me doing this in videos and it seems so predictable now. lol
