Ok, so don't you wish you knew HOW exactly skilled you are? Sometimes you pretend as if you are in an rpg and just get more experience if you play better people... But you don't know what LEVEL you are at...
I then remembered the S.A.T's... and they rate you on how good you did, but COMPARED to others who did worse than you... so you were given a percantile.
Of course, for us to know our skill, we would need people MUCH better than us, and people worse than us. Why? So that we know that we might be better than the person who is worse than us, but not than the person better than us... I'll give an example:
the worst person is #16, and the best is #1. Without number #1, the people above #1 would only know they are better than #16 (or 3, if they are 2, but still) and we know that we are better than some people, but we don't know HOW much better. ( if you beat #3, you'd become #2, but if #16 beat you, then you'd probably become #16 or something, but you still have 14 others to play! You still have a chance to see how good you are compared to them) I mean, we know we can pwn our little cousins and such, but we actually want to know who we are in between.
thing is, we'd need to play EACH other, not just two people...
If something like that COULD happen, I don't think there should be friendlies. Would need all the time for playing each other.
Also, you wouldn't play for money. (or maybe still, I don't know) But at least you would have to pay for venue fee. (or not if it's a smashfest)
Also, would you guys think something like this COULD effect your ranking (not PR, but just like, your skill for being seeded at least)
Also if we were just playing to see how skilled we are compared to others (I can't tell if I play two people, but people better than me that do have like more matches probably know how much better they are than others) would the BEST person there not feel like playing if THERE WASN'T a pot?
Should there be a pot? : 3
And, we would probably have to have 1 match as a warm up, than 2/3 for everyone. Sure it would be tedious, but it could help to see where you are exactly.
