but he's right! i mean brawl is so much more than melee, same with mario kart
and the graphics of each are like 3x... not the same at all...
the only notable difference between psps liberty city stories and gta4 is the graphics
the physics still look ragdollish, its the same city i heard, the same guns, a crappier online play (super lag i heard, worse than brawls worst lag), and a storyline that from what i heard is very close to the psps version with different characters
at least brawl had ton of new features, modes, decloned, was reworked, online is decent for competitive play, stage creator, insane original music, cult favorite characters joining the fray, better stages, insane fantasy cutscenes that chilled my spine to the nerdiest extent while watching them, its game of the year at LEAST. .(NESS AND LUCAS FIGHTING TOGETHER AGAINST PORKEY? OMFG YES)

GTA4 plays, looks, sounds, and acts exactly like GTA3 with better graphics and an extremely ****ty online mode, if it gets game of the year im going to lose faith in the gaming communities intelligence

why would ANYONE buy a game thats nearly identical in every way to the psp version?
this reminds me of god of war1/2 or soul caliber 2/3
same character, same moves, dif storyline, total disappointment
GTA4 could have been SOOOO much better, at least change the freaking city, come on there's no excuse for that
^^^^
Now, Agression, what have I told you before?
Stay away from the Clagg glue. Stop sniffing it. :(

I've been following the details of GTA IV for yonks now, and, goddamm, I'm buying a PS3 JUST for this and MGS4. Probably not for some time though... still, those physics look sweet.

I must say, "even though you here this every where", this is the best GTA series ever made in my eye's. I won't spoil the game right now, but I've played this game all night though.

What in the name of hell?

Brawl could've also been so much better, I mean 35 characters? Oh, and SSE could've had a lot more levels; and was it me or the stage-count too low? I mean it's just Melee with a bit more fighters, a graphical upgrade, and a nice story mode. Oh yeah, the online doesn't play like a whistle, either (oh, and man, opening day lag on Brawl online was unbearable).

- If everyone whined like you, the gaming community would get absolutely no progress. Brawl has significant strikes against it, but its still a great game.

GTA4 has taken CONSIDERABLE changes since GTA3, as I'm sure you haven't even cared to see that combat system has been completely revamped. Niko can take cover behind virtually anything, and peek/fire around corners like Gears of War. And correct me if I'm wrong, GTA has never taken place in Liberty City on a main console, if anything, once in GTA 1 or 2 (i.e. Playstation 3, Xbox, Playstation 2 etc.).

The online is great, I mean its not just team deathmatch and random fighting, they've put in all kinds of modes even to go as far to say Cops vs. Robbers.

IGN and Gamespot rarely give out 10 ratings, let alone to the same game, and believe me, it deserves what it gets. The press average for it's scores are 9.9-10... that's saying something.

yes the press average is 9.9 yes
but the gamer average is 9.2, below brawls 9.4
if everyone didnt make brawl reviews saying (ZOMG HALO3 FTW BRAWL SUCKZ giving it a 0 score) then it would be even higher maybe even 9.7 gamer average

brawl has 39 characters, pkmn trainer is 3, sheik, zzs thats 39(if u count the IC as 2 thats 40 total)
but remember mewtwo and roy were removed and the clones were 60% decloned

so in actuality its more like 26(melee)-6(clones)-1(mew2)=19+4(revamped clones)=25+14(new)=39

so technically speaking we got 14 new characters and four 60% decloned characters

if the roster was any bigger we wouldnt be able to have ssb4 on the next gen system
nintendo has about 15 or so good characters left + new 3rd parties, thats like 55 characters in ssb4? sounds about right

dont say: omg but cloned attacks, well yes but thats because ssb3 was rushed on account of EXTREMELY HIGH demand, so they cloned some FSs and halfed cloned 3 characters (falco/ganon/toonlink) to save time

in all actuality as im saying, GTA4 is just GTA3 with better graphics and enhanced physics with a not that great online mode. plus the fun only lasts 60hours maybe? brawl lasts for years to come

everyone will be sick of GTA4 like how they got sick of halo3, same as halo2, better graphics

at least brawl had a huge leap in modes/characters/balancing/stages/stage creator/cutscenes/graphics/physics/online/trophies/modes/unlocking/challanges/old games/replays/pics the list goes on

all i see is GTA3.5 sorry its the truth

First off, the gamer average can say whatever it want, because just how people say Halo 3 is superior to Brawl, people say other games can beat out GTA. The press average is what matters, because they aren't full of people who just think the game sucks because another one is better; or at least, not to such a high extent.

cutscenes/graphics/physics/online
All of which GTA contains more of than Brawl, and has improved more of since GTA3.

plus the fun only lasts 60hours maybe? brawl lasts for years to come
Do you realize how much work Rockstar put into developing this game? There is rarely a time when you will see two people looking alike/sounding alike on the streets. The voice acting is absolutely MASSIVE in this game.

Playing GTA story mode without codes takes close to 10 times the amount of time to beat it over SSE. That's alot of gameplay, and even GTA3 could boast about having a hell of a lot longer story than Brawl.

Just like theres room for improvement in the next Super Smash Bros., there's room for much improvement in the next GTA. Who knows what the developers will concoct next?

GTA online also offers more online modes, and customization far more than Brawl online does. Also, if you think Brawl was rushed because of hype, GTA has TONS more hype than Brawl. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners have been pressuring the developers for the games, and that amasses far more than Brawl's hype level. If the developers took their time, the game could've been far better than its current state.

This post is made of truth, but I can't help but feel my heart drop at the cold hard facts. Our little Brawl doesn't amount to much now, does it?

Well, Brawl and GTA are two completely different genres of games; Brawl ranks extremely well among it's own kind.

Impression so far: The game is good, I mean, it's GTA, so it's awesome, but I've yet to be blown away.

its the same city i heard, the same guns, a crappier online play (super lag i heard, worse than brawls worst lag), and a storyline that from what i heard is very close to the psps version with different characters...
Alright. I edited down your post and underlined some interesting parts. Dunno why you seem to have it so out for GTA, I hear it's a pretty good game.

i hate all the GTA games. they suck and there pointless. you don't even do anything. i've played them and i'm good at them but it gets so boring because you just do w/e you want for no reason. there is no point to the game. and actually beating it is easy and not fun. this is just my opinion. everyone else is intitled to theirs.

Just bought mine online; about to go pick it up tomorrow.

And btw, I've played it over a friends, the fuzz is ALL over you in this game. The police are very much so harder to escape in this game, and it provides a challenge.

Over all it's just fun, in my opinion I think its a giant step up from GTA3.

Hey, how about not bashing another game. YOU know that an Action Game and a Fighting Game are diffrent in every way. And GTA is not world wide title like Brawl is so don't jump into "this game is better than the other" crap. Man, it's like people always compare games that's in a diffrent catagory and stuff. =/

Errr, so much harder?
Gamespot Disagrees

An easy way to escape is to get out of their circle of influence, and just stay hidden for 5 seconds or so...

I don't think you can make that statement. You can't compare these two games.
Also, I am also not a big fan of GTA series, but I don't think there is not enough to do. Jacking cars, and shooting random people are fun, and if you can do it again a different way in IV with some girls to add spice, then bring it on.:lick:

Started playing recently, could not take my eyes from the screen for multiple hours, the game is full of immersion and fun. Best single player experience I've played in quite awhile, haven't touched multiplayer as yet, but heard that's pretty good too.

If you own a PS3 or a 360, get this game. Bottom line.

Played online, and boy, I never thought GTA could get any more fun than single player.
Multiplayer is INSANE, and fun too; lots of customization and the likes.

Btw, the bank robbery mission is by far my favorite. So much police, and so much fun. :)

The Snow Storm = an Awesome Mission :)
That mission pissed me off to no end. Had a big problem with police coming through the doorways and then Niko wouldn't fire the gun, he'd instead try to melee them, while they shot him with a shotgun or Micro SMG... so I'd die really fast, even with body armor. Finished the mission earlier though, and woo! Helicopter tours! Which means helicopters ripe for the taking!

There's an easter egg you can do if you have access to copters. The Heart of Liberty City. Anyone done it yet?

Urgh, it's an awesome mission but I had to restart it...SEVEN TIMES. That cover system when facing the police is so inconsistent - "NO NOT THAT SIDE OF THE CRATE"!
Blindfire Shotgun helps...

Drive-By Grenades = FUN!

EDIT: The Bank Robbery mission is by far the best mission I've played so far - the police...so many deaths! And I did it first time, it wasn't one of those "I died and feel robbed, and am really annoyed to restart" missions that occur frequently in this GTA - it was a well-crafted, beautiful mission - where the cover worked where it needed to, and it was tense and fast-paced throughout!
Did it remind anyone else of the urgency of Cloverfield?

Completed the entire game earlier this morning around 3-ish.

The single player experience is enough to make the game 60$ on it's own, but the multiplayer just adds on to it. Yes, the bank robbery was IMO the best mission. The escape, the cutscenes, the police, the pure chaos of everyone around, and the carbine you get for your first time; it's all great.

That.. mission was easy? I had a harder time with killing the guys before I got the coke. When the cops came I just sprinted out and hopped into the truck that was right outside and drove.

The guys that stole the coke pretty much just stood still for me. The cops owned me endless by what I described in my other post. One time I was doing that mission, killed all but one cop, saw him on my GPS, came around the corner to the room he was in, BOOM, SHOTGUN'D. I had full health. I died.

Police are so much more vicious in this one. Two stars are hard to escape at times, but three is ****ing impossible if you haven't learned to drive yet. I managed to survive, by running back to my safehouse and hiding for a bit. I got lucky.

I watched some vids of GTA and I must say it looks like a lot of fun even though planes, bicycles, tanks, several cheats, recruiting gang members and skill bars are gone. I don't know when I'll get to play this game first hand, time will tell.

I saw a vid where 16 people were racing on a freeway and as soon as it started the 2nd place guy crash causing a vicious pile up as people struggled to get out of the pack, I couldn't stop laughing or watching that. I've been dreaming about multiplayer GTA for years now and it really cool to see it come to life.

I find escaping the police simple, if I could just find a linear route, I constantly find myself running into insurmountable obstacles. Driving in this game feels more like a chore while in high speed chases. :/

You can't just compare Brawl and GTA IV together. That is just silly.

GTA IV is an amazing game. That is enough. What are you guys doing arguing about this? Go play the game instead!

"For an annoying d*ck, you really are an annoying d*ck."
