Okay, time for an optimistic thread, because god knows, WE NEED 'EM!!! (I love the positive Brawl thread...it roxxorz.)

But I'm getting off topic already.

For ages, the casual v. competitive war/battle/argument/*insert adjective here* raged on, but now, for those who are open minded enough, Brawl might silence quite a few! Think about it. Since alot of adv. techs are gone in the game, there'll probably be new ones discovered, but for those of us paying attention, this could be a new fresh start!

I for one will be watching these boards closely, and practicing any adv. techs I can find along with the rest of the competitive players.

Thats right adv. players. With Brawl, I might end up becoming one of ya. And so could many (open minded) casuals.

Good news, no?

Yaaay!!! (Looks again at the arguable name Ink Drop)
Seriously, it would be a good thing but then again we would have casuals who won't play competitive smashers. So unity is down the hole.
But yes, finding new techniques in Brawl would be awesome. This thread feels a little redundant, but good nonetheless.

Casual gamers are that way because they choose to be.
Theres like hundreds of guides and videos telling you how to be pro. Your just too lazy to learn. It will be alot harder for you now since the guides and videos will be limited at first.
Dont expect this game to be easyer pros, are pros for a reason. Its gonna take alot more work to learn all this new stuff.

Bad new? sorry

Who said it would be any easier? However, I can progress in this game along with everyone else, instead of not knowing anything for a good ...Um...some long amount of time!

Am I the only person who found this hilarious?

Anyway, yes, alot of the techniques are gone, but alot of them actually made it back, such as the waveland and L-cancel. I'm pretty sure a wide plethora of techniques will be discovered. But people (mostly casuals) will still think that they seperate professional from casuals, thus, induce more b!tching. It's an inevitability.

I think what he means it that it looks like there will be lesser or easier advanced tech, making it more accessible to beginners. The smaller learning curve can be a double edged sword. While there may be more people in the pool of players, because there is less tech to practise and learn the competitive people willing to learn may pass off the game as too simply and go back to Melee. It will be a long while before we see exactly what makes Brawl skillful at high level play.

I'm not talking about easiness of learning the techs. I'm talking about the ability to learn the advanced techs that are discovered at the same time as everyone else (or all the other competitive players) I may have been lazy in Melee, but I sure as heck aren't going to be in Brawl! Soon as I get Brawl, first thing I'm gonna try to master is that Dash Stop thingy. Now that looks cool.
