GMU area! Burke, VA! Where y'all at?

From the Fairfax/Burke, VA area: yo! I need some legit training for tournaments, because as some of you might know, Brawl has a pretty decent following at George Mason University, which leaves many Melee players undiscovered or hard to find (since they spend so much time on Brawl). I've been out of TRUE practice (against other Melee-exclusive players) ever since I left Louisiana almost two years ago. I main Link, Falco, and dabble in many other characters.

Point is, I need some training/practice/SOMETHING against people who are adept at Melee tech stuff so I can start competing or attending bi-weeklies and monthlies at a competitive level. Thanks, and let me know! If this thread gets some decent response, I'll post some preferred contact info, but simply responding is awesome in itself!

Another local Link would be sweet...but at this point, I guess I'm asking for too much.

Oh yeah, and I'm also a musician with a full setup. Melee/jamming sounds like a ****** time.

Fairfax is a bit of a drive for me, but I've def been looking for people to play with. It seems like anything generally close to VA is brawl related. If you are planning something let me know and I will try to participate.

And I main Puff and Marth, but dabble in a bunch too.

Hi, I'm new to the competitive scene and trying to take the next step by entering tournies and playing other melee people as well. But from what i've learned, Northern VA doesn't have a lot of melee going on. Chudat hosts some bi weeklies, thats probably your best bet. I live in manassas, and the va/md melee scene is lacking, it sucks!

i play fox and some shiek. =)

I'm pretty sure the chudat biweeklies aren't held anymore but you can double check on that...

So,
I love melee
I go to and work at GMU
I live within walking distance of the school in a private house with roomates
I main sheik but enjoy playing lots of different characters especially since I can crush my friends with whomever so ya.
