Hey, Luigi Board! If any of you have the time, I'd like it if you could check out this video and give me some advice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkYXj6P16dI

I know I have 2 areas to work on:

1. Not getting destroyed when you get knocked into the air, especially by MK. It's hard to land safely though, with Luigi's terrible air speed. I need alot of work on this.

2. Killing earlier. Luigi's UpB and FSmash let him hang with the high and top tiers IMO, but I'm having trouble connecting with the Utilted FSmash. I need help in landing it earlier.

Thanks for any help.

I gotta be honest, I was mainly watching the R.O.B. for the first match. He took your first two stocks to town. I started watching you for your last stock when you decided to stop losing, lol. Missed the last kill, video got really dark for some reason. Didn't bother watching the MK one. Get tired of seeing him after a while...

But yeah, uh, do more of what you did during your last stock of the first match. Probably would have won if you did.

Haha, yeah, I need R.O.B. match-up experience for sure. I was learning along the battle, hence why I started to do better near the end. I win the next match, but get destroyed in the first stock, which is the main part I want help on (the landing safely bit).

EDIT: And I forgot to mention, but these matches were done on Wifi. So there are some more mistakes on both sides than usual and some obvious punishing is missed, but the basic gist of playstyles is still there.

WiFi is valid.

Anyway, I thought you played better during the time you were losing against ROB than you did when you were winning against MK. You had your spacing down, your ATs down (with the exception of the FFAD and AD Buffer), your DI down, and even your recoveries were pro (lott'a people don't know they should fAir to recover), you just looked like you didn't know how to fight against a ROB.

The reason you aren't KOing earlier is your lack of up-angled fSmashes. Now, this is only from what I see of your Luigi against ROB and MK... for all I know your KO early against other non-flying characters by chasing them off-stage and gimping them early. But for opponents like ROB and MK (and all others with excellent recoveries) you really need to add the fSmashes.

Learn to FFAD better (you don't FF), learn to AD Buffer, and then learn to AD Buffer an up-angled fSmash.

Also... where's the nAir?! Get your thumb off the C-Stick dude. You're also missing the tilts. You have like zero ground game... and that's where most of Luigi's KO moves originate from. You SH fAir after Perfect Shields!!! You should notice how you SH everything, even when Jabs/Tilts/Smashes would do better.

Other than that, it's a pretty solid Luigi. Your recoveries are superb from what I can see from these videos. You've got technical skill. Your air game is very nice too. You just need to add more ground game... it seems no matter what percentage the opponent is, you continue to use SH Aerial approaches and attacks even though you it's obvious they aren't KO moves ('cept maybe bAir). So yeah, more ground game... this means FFAD Buffering, Jabs, Tilts, Grabs and Hyphen Smashes.

Thanks elheber, really. That's some sweet advice, and I'll be sure to take it.
