Arsenal vs. Barcelona?

BRING IT ON!!!!

The draw seems more fixed than usual this year though. Inter-CSKA, Man Utd-Bayern and Lyon-Bordeaux seem a little too simple. Maybe not the Bayern draw but still.

also, full champions league draw?
Quarter Finals:

Olympique Lyon vs Girondis Bordeaux
FC Bayern Munich vs Manchester United
Arsenal London vs CF Barcelona
FC Internationale vs ZSKA Moscow

Edit: Lyon, ManU, Barca and Inter looks like a strong Semi-Final Draw to me. Don't see how these are "too simple".

Champions League Semi-final draw

Bayern Munich/Manchester United v Lyon/Bordeaux
Inter Milan/CSKA Moscow v Arsenal/Barcelona

**** at Inter vs Arsenal/Barca

United have an easy route to the final.

Europa League draw

Fulham v Wolfsburg
Hamburg v Standard Liege
Valencia v Atletico Madrid
Benfica v Liverpool

Semi-final draw:

Hamburg/Standard Liege v Fulham/Wolfsburg
Valencia/Atletico Madrid v Benfica/Liverpool

All games could go either way imo, but Liverpool should get to the semis.

@ Tamoo - not anymore. Didn't play competitively either. Tbh I don't play anything these days.

By too simple I mean that the quarter finals are really easy to call IMO with the exception of the Bayern-United match.

No they don't? They're clearly the favourites but Bayern and then Lyon (probably) are nothing to joke about.

:059:
They're both games that United should win. Ferguson knows they're not in the final yet and the teams should be taken seriously but he will be delighted with the draw.

I agree with N9NE.

The other side of the bracket is a monster though. I'd love to see Arsenal pull off the upset and get to the final but once we're there facing Man Utd is a pretty daunting task.

This is the Champions League Quarter Final. Nothing is "easy to call. Chelsea beating Inter was easy to call ... except it didn't happen. Real beating Lyon was easy to call ... except it didn't happen.

We're talking about a level of play where nearly everybody can beat anyone. How is Lyon vs Bordeaux easy to call? Bordeaux is currently ahead of Lyon in the french league which has been a rarity in the last 10 years. ZSKA have a solid, consistent team whereas Inter is the complete opposite of that (struggling against Kiew and Kazan but beating Chelsea ...). The results aren't easy to predict, despite Inter / Lyon being the favourites.

They're both games that United should win. Ferguson knows they're not in the final yet and the teams should be taken seriously but he will be delighted with the draw.
Yea, I agree that ManU should win. But calling it an "easy draw" is careless by all means.

Edit: It's true that the Barca/Inter/Arsenal/ZSKA side is more difficult but I can't see how people are "glad" about ManU having to face Bayern and Lyon in a row. We're talking about the club that beat the leader of the Spanish league (who are ahead of the "best club in the world" aka Barca).

Chelsea beating Inter was not an easy call.

Arsenal won't win it.

Ferguson won't call it an easy draw. Everyone else will :)

You make good points Gheb and I agree with them. But you must agree that Man. Utd won't be complaining much looking at not only their draw but also the likes of Arsenal's.

I'm liking the underdog tag that Arsenal is being given. I'm not saying we're going straight to the final but we certainly have the least amount of pressure on us and in those moments Arsenal produce their best stuff.

And while it is easy to say now, I fully expected Inter to beat Chelsea.

I know right?

That Arsenal-Barcelona match was quite the event. Hopefully we can pull of the upset come Tuesday in the Nou camp.

Man I think watching soccer is boring...

I don't know how people like my dad could stand up and start jumping and yelling around because Boca Junior (yes Argentinean team) got a goal...

I love football. It is a more elegant version of hockey.

At *Pound* 4, I made the mistake of starting a conversation with the Europeans about "soccer." I got a handful of nasty looks.

If you don't like football, thats fine.

And calling football "soccer" around anyone from outside of America will get you a bunch of dirty looks lol.

Moment of truth today, guys. Barcelona vs. Arsenal. Nou Camp. ARE YOU READY?!?!?!

What are Munich without Robben again? A bunch of highly mediocre players, that's what they are. If it wasn't for his incredible abilities this club would've been out of the competition long ago. It's too bad that a club as good as ManU is out now just because Munich bought one unbeleivably good player (and Real was dumb enough to even let him go).

Interesting semi-finals though without a single british club. Completely unexpected but I don't mind a little change even though Munich never deserved to get that far. It's all just because of Robben.

LOL Sounds like someone's pretty salty.

Robben's goal was worthy to win any tie.

Congratulations to Barcelona. They were leagues above us. Messi is by far the best player on the planet. Bar none.
