I like 2/?/2/2 Do you guys like Flame Wave or Flame Chain better? Flame Wave is slow but deals a ton of damage and has great kill power. With Flame Chain you can build up damage well with it speed but has no kill power and eliminates Ganoncide. Thoughts?
Wave is too slow. Choke should be your default, with chain as an alternative for specific matchups.

Warlock Punch
Warlock Punch seems to be the best option for its KO potential and super armor. While Warlock Blade does have the increased priority, it lacks the power that Warlock Punch offers, and it has to be sweetspotted to be effective as well; no sweetspots needed for Warlock Punch. Warlock Thrust is practically useless, so don't bother using it at all.

Flame Choke
Flame Choke customs come down to preference. Flame Choke can't KO without follow-ups, but its range is decent. Flame Wave can be quite lethal if it grabs anyone, but its range is shorter, and that power doesn't give you any follow-up options. Flame Chain deals multiple hits and doesn't cause Ganondorf to fall off ledges, but it can trigger Counters, which makes it an awful choice against those with Counter moves (Ex.: Marth, Palutena, Shulk).

Dark Dive and Wizard's Foot
Dark Fists and Wizard's Dropkick are quite obvious, as the former is much more powerful on offense than Dark Dive, and the latter offers better horizontal distance than Wizard's Foot whenever it's used in the air. And of course, Ganondorf's recovery receives a big improvement by those two moves, since without them, his recovery is normally quite poor. There's literally no reason to NOT use Dark Fists and Wizard's Dropkick, since Dark Vault and Wizard's Assault are just worthless as a whole.

Dropkick isn't always better than regular kick, wizkick comes out 4 frames faster, is much easier to edge cancel, hits short characters better & air wizkick is an important kill move for Ganondorf.
Don't get me wrong dropkick is great, but honestly in 50% of the MUs i'd rather have regular wizkick.
Also flame chain is garbage, and the fact that Ganon doesn't fall off the ledge is actually really bad since he can't cancel the endlag by grabbing onto the ledge.

To be fair, Flame Choke does better overall than its custom variants, simply because after grabbing an opponent, Ganondorf can easily follow-up with his d-tilt, which is quite strong. And of course, it can't be countered, which is a big weakness that Flame Chain has. Flame Wave may be destructive if it grabs anyone, but obviously, that shorter range makes it very hard for it to even compete with Flame Choke and Flame Chain.

As for Wizard's Foot, all I can say is that when you consider how poor Ganondorf's recovery normally is, you could be in trouble if you don't have Wizard's Dropkick by your side. Sure, Wizard's Foot is more powerful on offense, especially with its Meteor Smash features, but sometimes you need to think about your recovery as well, as an aerial Wizard's Foot does nothing good for Ganondorf's recovery.

With that said, 1122 would be the way to go if you're concerned about Ganondorf's recovery.

Wave is only decent in one MU (against Rosa) because it gives Ganondorf something against her shield, once you learn to play against chain it's rather horrible & imo is the worst of the chokes.

In most MUs Dark fists is good enough for recovering, dropkick helps some MUs with approaching & recovering but again air wizkick is a fantastic kill option & it destroys shields.

Even Rosalina can avoid Flame Wave though, so it's not like Ganondorf is guaranteed to remove the Luma with that move.

It's still not amazing vs Rosa but it's the best option out of the three.
Also if Ganon grabs her Luma can't do jack, he has super armor during the grab itself & the explosion knocks Luma away.

I prefer 2122 (Warlock Blade, Flame Choke, Dark Fists, Wizard's Dropkick)
