Hi, sorry for late reply. In hex, 1 Byte is 2 digits. So 00 is 1 byte, and 0C is another byte. For example Player 1: D109EFA4 XXYY, XX is the byte at D109EFA4 and YY is the byte at D109EFA5. Since the code is D0, it ignores the first 2 digits of the code. Notice in virtually every gameshark code starting with D0 or 80, the first 2 digits of code is always 00. It can be confusing due to 81/D1 codes vs 80/D0 codes. So I think the activator code is probably fine. For the input activator codes, i referenced the 2 byte version, since it's simpler/more consistent. I suggest trying D1 instead of D0, specially since the values range from 0000 to FFFF. So do D109EFA4 ####.

I can double check on teh button activator values sometime. You don't have to test that stage background stuff. I think it's better suited with a rom patch. I remember a patch that displays a frameskip counter. I think that patch with BG stage stripping would be interesting to test.

MaximusSmash64, you can't merge the activators because they are different addresses, unfortunately.

Thanks again, Madao. If you ever need anything else tested, feel free to message me.

General question for everyone, has anyone ever dealt with an issue with button activators on the everdrive? If I insert a code with button activators, the game will function oddly and function as if someone is pressing start or b constantly.

You're welcome. I appreciate your offer and will keep in mind.
Is there a way to make it faster or to remove shields or add wavedashing
Make what faster? Removing shields is likely doable without too much effort. Adding wavedashing is possible, but not a trivial task.
Is there any code to disable the annoying crowd chants & screams?
I don't think so, but perhaps i can try to make the code next week.

This is a pretty late response, and honestly probably should've tried to get this clarified sooner but i literally only now came back to trying the auto cancel stuff with a better grasp

Anyways, just clarifying something quick; how exactly did you get the right address for the special attack? was it through the memory breakpoint method? or something else? i didn't really get this part so it kinda had me lost

Is the Nemu memory breakpoint feature sensitive to only certain addresses? When i try setting one on the player 1 player state, it doesn't do anything when i do an action. idk if this is supposed to happen or im missing something?

For the addresses, yes I use breakpoints. Alternatively, you could just watch the player states, and do memory searches to find the address, since the player state for special attacks are unique. I can give examples of how to find specific ones, if you need help with that.

Hey, do you know if there's a way to make the lava is Zebes act erratic/crazy. Basically, hyperactive? I thought I found a code for it, but I can't find it.

Hey Madao. Thanks for seeing the reply, and sorry I didn't. I do still need help with editing spawn platform locations for DL beta 1 and 2 if you're able, for all 4 players each.

Hello, is it possible to enable that Debug input/stick information during matches [outside the system debug]?

This thing:
[Before]

[After]

I'm sure it's technically possibly, but I don't know how to do it.

That sounds familiar. I could look into it.

Madao, are strictly a gameshark guy or do you actually mess around with the code? I've start to create some hacked stages with the advances regarding them recently and its got me thinking about maybe doing something more. Please shoot me a PM if this would be something you'd be at all interested in. I'm not looking for a handout or free labor here either.

I really would like that code that Innovation was talking about, the code that would edit the spawn platform locations for Dream Land Beta 1 and 2 for all 4 players. Also I'd like a code to remove the grab-on ledges from Dream Land Beta 1, I find them annoying.

Sorry for the late response. I think you're better off making a ROM patch for these kinds of changes, since it requires quite a bit of code. I may look into stage modification in the near future if things go well. I'm not sure how to remove grab-on ledges, I could ask others though.

If anyone's using Smash Remix 0.9, here's some values for that. This is currently the only way to use the extra characters outside of Vs. Mode.

1D - Falco
1E - Ganondorf
1F - Young Link
20 - Dr. Mario

It's important to note that there is a gap between Giant DK (1A) and Falco. Using 1B or 1C crashes the game.

29 - Deku Tree
2A - First Destination (Desk)
2B - Ganon's Tower
2C - Kalos Pokémon League
2D - Pokémon Stadium 2
2E - Skyloft
2F - Smashville
30 - WarioWare, Inc.
31 - Battlefield
32 - Corneria City (Lylat Cruise)
33 - Dr. Mario
34 - Cool Cool Mountain
35 - Dragon King
36 - Great Bay
37 - Fray's Stage
38 - Tower of Heaven
39 - Fountain of Dreams
3A - Muda Kingdom
3B - Mementos
3C - Showdown (Intro cutscene field)
3D - Spiral Mountain
3E - N64
3F - Mute City
40 - Mad Monster Manor
41 - Mushroom Kingdom BF
42 - Mushroom Kingdom Ω

Here's some actual codes!

No Pokémon in Saffron City
Code:
8113140C 0000

Freely Swap Characters
To use, hold the button combination for the character you want while the scene changes, like when a new battle is loading or while the announcer is saying "GAME SET".

Among other things, this can be used to use the special characters without crashing the game.

Pay attention to the Xpadder window in the bottom-left. It'll show you what I'm doing on my N64 controller while I'm doing it.

R+✜↑ = :mario64:
R+✜↗ = :dk64:
R+✜→ = :link64:
R+✜↘ = :samus64:
R+✜↓ = :yoshi64:
R+✜↙ = :kirby64:
R+✜← = :fox64:
R+✜↖ = :pikachu64:
R+C↑ = :luigi64:
R+C→ = :falcon64:
R+C↓ = :jigglypuff64:
R+C← = :ness64:

+Z for Fighting Polygon characters (e.g. Poly Pikachu is R+✜↖+Z)

R+C↗+Z = Metal Mario
R+C↘+Z = Giant DK
R+C↙+Z = Master Hand

[Smash Remix 0.9 only]
R+C↗
= :drmario: (Vanilla: Metal Mario)
R+C↘ = :falcomelee: (Vanilla: Giant DK)
R+C↙ = :younglinkmelee: (Vanilla: Master Hand)
R+C↖ = :ganondorfmelee: (Vanilla: Either no effect or Everyone is Mario [see below])

As you can see, if using the vanilla game version of the codes, they'll do the same thing as if you were holding Z.

Questions about other codes. I'm not making requests to slap full codes together, I want to know how I'd be able to do these things myself.

  • I know I need to "freeze" the music value before I can use the music changing code, but how can I do that?
  • How would I find the hitboxes of stage hazards, and could they be disabled? (e.g. making it to where you just pass through and ignore the barrel cannon on Kongo Jungle, the bumper on Peach's Castle, or the acid on Zebes)
  • I want to make it to where the debug characters freeze a lot less, and I think I have a plan how to do that. I just need the tools to carry it out... How would you change a character's:
    • Classic Mode Portrait? (e.g. make the game automatically load Mario's portrait if playing as Polygon Mario)
    • Victory theme?
    • Which animations are used, e.g. tell the game to play the character's idle pose or taunt on the results screen and character select screen)
    • Announcer voice clip used? (e.g. "This game's winner is... Fighting Polygon Team!")
    • Change a state to something else, and making it to where it overrides everything else? (e.g. Forcing Master Hand's entrance state; he has problems when it doesn't play, like in Training Mode or when fighting himself in Classic Mode. He also gets stuck falling forever with some of his attacks if he's not on Final Destination.)
      • For that matter, what property does FD have that the other stages don't that allow MH to stop when he hits it?
  • Would it be possible to trigger the blast zone manually? Melee 20XX has an option to make rolling have this effect; I don't know if 64 would have the same capability. (I want to see if I can toy around with it, and see if overriding Master Hand's defeat animation with this will make him able to actually lose without crashing the game.)
    • Voice clip or sound effect used for given states? (Directly related, since MH doesn't have a "losing stock" scream.)

How would I go about finding some of these things myself? I'm really new to Gameshark stuff.

There are other things I want to try, but I think I have some idea how I'll be able to find them myself using Cheat Engine. I'll try when I have some more free time.

Sorry for the late response.
Do y’all have any star or screen Kos codes?
I do not, at the moment. I should probably try and see if I can figure it out though.

First thing you can do is familiarize yourself with an emulator that as a debugger. You can either use Project64 2.4 or Nemu. Unfortunately I don't have much info about the questions you've asked, but there's a discord server(https://discord.gg/drt84wn) with lots of people who are actively modding the game. I'm sure they could at least answer some of your questions.

Is it possible to change adresses found with Debugger and turn it into a cheat?
Can Jigglipuff have its jumps fixed, instead of each jump being weaker?

What do you mean by change the address found with Debugger? What debugger are you using? I'm sure it's possible to have its jumps fixed. It might be complicated though.

Hi, it has been a while since i posted here, I just discovered the Smashremix mod, its an amazing job and my congratulations to everyone involved on that amazing project, its a masterpiece!
However, i want to know if cheats can be used on this mod? Are they different? None of the classic codes seems to work, just master code for Smash64 (U) makes crash my game...
What i wanna do is:
handicap modifier: This mod has Metal Mario and Giant DK available, however they lack their huge resistance. I had to use a handicap modifier together with character modifier in order to make them really badass as singleplayer mode.

Hi. I would imagine that cheat codes would work, although some addresses may be different. Unfortunately, I can't help with the master code. Alternatively, I think you're better off just editing the ROM itself, since you could just increase the knockback resistance of those 2 characters to get your desired result.

Thanks for your fast reply. I discovered that the Adresess are the same at least for Characters and Handicap modifiers, thankfully. On Project64 they worked, but on console the Master code not work.
I havent edit the ROM itself before, if you can give me some tips how to start would be great, for such simple values changes wouldn´t be a hard work.

Hi, Does codes work on Console?

For basic things if you're lucky, you can simply do a hex search on the ROM. This should work for things like default settings like character/handicap modifier. Basically in a memory editor you can copy a few bytes and hex search whatever you copied. For example if you wanted to edit the Z cancelling frame window, you would look at the address 80144770 in a memory editor and copy 8 bytes. The reason you copy 8 bytes instead of a smaller number like 4, is because there might be multiple places where that same 4-byte number exists, so you want to narrow it down. Once you've copied those 8 bytes (which would normally be 29C10014 50200016 when in a match), you can hex search the ROM and you will find the area (000BF1B0). Then you can change the 0014 to any 2-byte number you wish, if you want to change the z cancelling frame window. When you are searching data in RAM, make sure you are where you're supposed to be in the game, because that same address can be used for different things. Basically if you want to change something in the title screen, then you would search RAM while in title screen. If you want to change something about vs mode matches, then make sure you're in vs mode when you RAM search.
Can someone make a code that disables the training menu hud
Are you referring to the text that shows things like damage and combo count?

A few things.

You may recognize this code as the debug menu code. But it's the game state modifier.

800A4AD0 00??

I need help identifying the missing ones here, if someone could be so kind.

Code:
00 - No Controller Warning
01 - Title
02 - Debug Stage Select
03 - System Debug (Doesn't work in Remix)
04 - Combat Debug
05 - Falls Debug
06 - Unidentified Debug
07 - Main Menu
08 - 1P Menu
09 - VS Menu
0A - VS Options
0B - Item Switch
0C - Congratulations!
0D - Challenger Approaching
0E - Pre-Classic Round

$10 - Versus Mode, $11 - Classic Mode, $13 - Break The Targets, $14 - Board the Platforms

Vs. Records redirects to Debug Menu (Because seriously, who uses the Vs. Records screen?)

Besides that... More stuff for Smash Remix!

NOTES:
  • The code to affect Link's bomb effect in the first post will also affect Young Link and Conker. Furthermore, there's two more effects now: 07 = Darkness, 08 = Stun.
  • There are so many stages and songs that Project 64 can't fit them all in one code, so the way I split them up is out of necessity. You need to have duplicate codes to be able to choose between them all.
  • Changing the stage or characters in Multi-Man uses the codes for Classic Mode.
Remix-only codes:

Music Override (A different code is needed for Remix due to expanded song mechanics)

question. is it possible to have the infinite jump cheat only work for a specific player?
(ex. player 1.)
It is possible, but i unfortunately cannot remember where i found similar types of codes. Basically any code that works for a specific player is going to be long and complex. I'll continue searching, but i can't promise that I'll find it.

Edit: I actually found it soon after posting. You can take a look here if you want. I'll try seeing if i can do the code for you, but it might take me a while.
