Let's face it. There's a TON of Mario games out there, and some are good, some are decent and some you just HAVE to get your hands on.

Tell us which games you absolutely loved to play and maybe how to get your hands on it. I'll give some examples:

Super Mario 64

Publisher: Nintendo
Producer: Shigeru Miyamoto
Date of Release (US): Sept. 26, 1996
System: Nintendo 64
Genre: Platformer, 1 player game
Average ratings, Awards: 9-10/10 ... best selling game of all time on the N64

What's so good about this game?

While this game is getting a little older now, it's very worth playing. The game was and still is a classic for the N64. A fully new world is in front of you with 15 full worlds, 6 secret worlds, 3 bowser worlds and the castle/outside to roam. Good controls, with good creative stages! Not to mention Mario gains 3 hats. Try them all out!

How to get your hands on it:

This game is from '96, but it's not as hard to find as you'd think. You can get this a couple of ways. If you want a hard copy, I'd suggest you find any stores that re-sell old games in your area or maybe Ebay. If you don't want a hard copy, and just want to play the game right now...you can download it with a Wii from the Wii Shop Channel, under Virtual Console games for 1,000 points (or $10.00).

---

I hope to find some Mario games myself I haven't gotten yet, give some good suggestions!

What Mario games have you not played? Listing them would be apperciated.

Anyway, I highly recommend Super Mario Galaxy. Amazing musics, beautiful visuals, perfect gameplay, great story, all-around flawless. Anyone without this game needs to buy it as soon as possible.

Ah, well this thread isn't just for me, it's more of a, "This game is awesome, and if you haven't tried it, do!" kind of thread.

One of the big ones I've not played is Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, and then also Bowser's Inside Story.

I highly recommend the whole Mario and Luigi series, or the first one if you have to make a choice first. They are all amazing games andd will definitely not dissappoint you. I haven't played 3 yet, but others have said it's good like the first, meaning it's amazing.

Paper Mario 1 and 2 were great as well. Super Paper Mario is ok, but I don't think it's in the same "must have" level as the first too.

Yeah, if someone is requesting help for this sort of thread it would be in their better interest to state / list which other (if any) Mario games they have played or enjoyed.

But I'd recommend the first two installments of the Paper Mario series and all of the Mario & Luigi series to any Mario gaming fan.

Fun, yet challenging, PM sends Mario on a quest like no other, encountering several helpful allies along the way. With witty dialogue, action-packed gameplay, and loads of cool areas and characters, this game is one of the funnest RPG's you'll ever play. Plus, it has lots of great music...

For the competitive players, I would recommended the Mario Tennis series, and Mario Strikers series. Both games go very very deep with competition, even Mario Power Tennis goes more deep with Powershots, you can punish your opponents mistakes with a Powershot. Mario Strikers Charged may have a ton of options than Super Mario Strikers, but not the balance, but with the right rulesets, Mario Strikers Charged may be more enjoyable.

Luigi's Mansion is Mario Universe related, so it qualifies. =)

To be honest...there are really very few bad Mario games. With a few obvious exceptions like Mario is Missing, the dreaded educational games, Hotel Mario...yeeeah. Otherwise like...the entire series is amazing for the most part.

Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story is an amazing game. The game is surprisingly technical, storyline is hilarious, and there's a lot of awesome mini-games. And it stars BOWSER. XD

I'd recomend the Paper Mario trilogy, so much fun. And Mario Galaxy because it's better than Mario 64 friggin' awesome.
I actually feel that Galaxy IS better than Mario 64. I don't really like the lack of levels in 64, and that you are constantly just going back through the same levels to find coins or stars, often times going through nearly identical pathways to get to multiple stars. Galaxy is very linear but I think that's how Mario should be.

I don't know who hasn't played this game who can call themselves a Mario fan really, but I guess maybe some of the younger fans may have missed it and haven't gotten a chance to pick it up.

I'm suggesting Super Mario Bros. 3.

This is easily the best game on the original Nintendo. Granted, the time I discovered it my NES was going through many troubles (so I'd barely get a chance to play it), it had 2 remakes on the SNES and GBA, and it was released on the Virtual Console for all Wii owners.

Try finding it if you can, or at least downloading it on the Wii. You will not be disappointed. At all. I might have even considered it the best Mario platformer out there if Mario World wasn't so much better to me.
