I might go out and buy the adapter for this game. But honestly you'll have to get used to the new button placement (mainly A,B,X, and Y), of the Pro Controller/ Classic Pro, because the 3DS has the same button layout. I mean if you plan to play competitively on both without having to learn to play 2 different ways.
yea but I am sure this game will have customizable controls like brawl did. So technically I could set it up to the gamecube controller where nothing has changed....right...I hope, cause buying 4 pro controllers for smashing would succcckkk.

I'll either use the gamepad or my hybrid controller. It works for both Wii and Wii U, and can be registered as either a Wii Remote or a Classic controller Pro with the flip of a switch. The button layout is kinda weird though; both control sticks are on top with the rest of the buttons in a classic controller setup, but I like it that way.
I really want to use the gamepad to smash from my bed while netflixing, since the wii u will be in the same room. Sicccccck

I will attempt to try the pro controller cause i feel like it is not gonna be awful if i can get the controls where i want them. If it does not work then i will probably go back tot he trusty gamecube controller.

I've been using the Classic Controller Pro and I'm curious as to whether it would be worth trying the Wii U Pro Controller and if it would have any inherent advantages (besides not plugging into a Wiimote).

The plan is to get two pro controllers somewhere down the line for this. However, I'm holding out in the event Nintendo finally releases a driver that supports USB controllers like the other two consoles. They added in support for keyboards. They can do that.

I'm probably going to use the Wii remote and Nunchuk. It is the combo I use the most but I might consider trying to use the pro controller when the new game comes out.

I plan on using the Wii U Pro controller or Wii classic pro controller but for others there is this:

anyone thinking of buying this, keep in mind it is NOT A WII U CONTROLLER. Its a hybrid wiimote/classic controller for WII ONLY. That means it doesn't work for games that support wii u pros only.

wii u pro controller for me, already bought 4 controllers just for this game :)

if anyone is intrested in getting these controllers for half the price this is the place I got mine. shipping is slow due to them being in china but the product is the same as the 40 dollar product.

hate to burst your bubble, but thats a knockoff designed to look like a 1st party controller. Just keep in mind, the price actually is a reflection of the quality. Wii U pros are 50 bucks for a reason, but i know best buy had the whites ones half off or more after the white wii u was discontinued.

1st party stuff is almost always way more relaible, so keep that in mind when shopping for a controller for competitive gaming.

I have this one and it works great so far for me.

Personally I'm used to the "cstick" being above my buttons because I used the dpad for that on wiichuck. The Nyko is rubberized and has a great feel to it overall but has less than half of the massive battery life the wii u pro stores (only 30).

the reviews don't look that good for this...

Wiimote+Nunchuck. Its really not as bad once you learn how to use it. I did have to swap the Z and B buttons and take off Tap Up to Jump. It feels fine.

I prefer the GC controller still since wireless devices for a tourney setting is obnoxious. Plus, I am not too sure about the new stick location and (if its for the smash stick) how it might affect me using it.

Wii U Pro controller, because I don't flip the **** out when things change.
This. And i've even got a beautiful white Gamecube controller I only used for about a year before I stopped playing Brawl. It's time to let those things rest.

I own a Wii U and Wii U Pro Controller. I find the Wii U Pro Controller very comfortable, so I would very much use that.
