Gamecube Controller vs. Classic?

I play with wiimote, and i know VERY WELL that i don't have future with it(in brawl).

So here's the deal, i was thinking about buying a gamecube controller like everyone does, the big problem is:

They are impossible to find in brazil, we only have classic controllers.

So now i ask you. The classic controller is good as the gamecube controller, or he sucks? Should i buy it? because the gamecube controller is going to be HARD to find

Well, I started playing on Nintendo using a GNC controller, me playing with a Gamecube controller most of the time, I'd say a gamecube controller is better.

But if you haven't given the Classic Controller Pro a try, I would suggest it as well, it's basically a classic controller with 2 shoulder buttons and support.

But if you must get a GNC controller, I would look for it online.

Well thank you very much guys, i think the GC is the best choice, i never saw a pro playing with classic controllers or wiimote, thanks for the portuguese version of it ;D

If you're planning to play Smash 4 competitivly then I'd suggest you use the Classic Controller Pro instead of the Gamecube controller. While the Gamecube controller is superior you cannot use it for the Wii U and Smash 4 but you can with the Classic Controller Pro. If you learn the classic controller pro instead of the GC controller then you won't have to re-learn the controls for the game like everyone else is going to have to do when Smash 4 comes out.
