i noticed that a computer game and watch spiked someone with a dash attack while they were about to grab the ledge. does this always work??

When invincible frames fade-off when they're on the ledge, a dash attack can create a spike animation, and can KO at high damages.

It will stage spike if there's a lip, which can kill at low % too.

Yeah, but thats if the victim has a crappy recovery, someone like Mario is not going to survive a surprise dash spike, but a Kirby will more than likely.
