Game Over

I've thought about something not many people have probably thought about (or it could just be because i cant use the search function). What will getting a game over be like? What happens if you run out of time, lose your lives or don't complete the expected goal (like saving a princess). And what kind of music will play for a game over? I think it will be different for each character. Here are my thoughts on happenings.

Possible Happenings
1. You get taken back to the main menu like in melee and dont get anything.
2. You lose an unlocked character or stage (wouldnt sell brawl very well)
3. Would be different depending on where you are in the mode or game.

Possible Details (Music, Cutscenes etc. )
1. The character you are using will have his own corresponding game over music.
a. Mario, Peach, Luigi- Famous Super Mario Bros game over theme.
b. Link, Zelda and others- Twilight Princess game over theme
c. Kirby, Metaknight, Dedede- Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland game over theme
d. Samus- Just blanks out white displaying "Power Suit Failure" or "Corrupted"
e. Pikachu, Pokemon Trainer- Displays message saying "Pokemon Trainer whited out" then blacks out
Sonic, Snake, Ice Climbers, Pit, Zamus, Fox, C falc, DK, Yoshi, Wario, Ike, and Diddy will play their corresponding game over music (sorry guys never really played any of these games except for WarioWare: Smooth Moves
2. Each character will be turned into trophies in the same fasion as Zelda was in the cutscene we saw on Game Trailers.

What are your thoughts on this

I agree with Aryman. Just wait till the game is released, and play something else now.

While I completely agree with the last two posts, I just think that the game over will be similar to the first two games.

Also considering the fact that the trophy part is a big roll in Brawl, the losing character could be shown as a trophy, just like in Melee.

Or not. I dunno.

That would suck. A lot.

But, being a FE Fan myself, I would laugh. A lot.

"WARIO HAS BEEN KILLED. GAME OVER."

Imagine that happen... :ohwell:

Here's my theory: If you get game over, it will say game over and you will go to the start menu or buy a continue.
It might be a tad crazy, but I think this might be in.

Do you mean BUY as in, actually use real money, or just subtract score points from your total score?

I mean buy as in, use your coins and aubtract score total. They might just go with score due to them saying the coins weren't used for buying anything.

If you mean those Smash coins used in Melee, I'm not even sure if they will bring them back.

I personally didn't see any point of them except for buying trophies at the trophy machine.

Where the machine ran out of trophies.. Quickly.

I'm guessing you can buy yourself out, like Melee, and/or have to start over at at the beginning of the stage, losing everything you've unlocked thus far since your last save, if there are saves.

If SE is long enough to require saves (we still don't know) then the question is answered. Game over would take us back to the menu and we'd start at our last save.

I think it will make for an "alternate path" game. We already saw that with choosing which princess to save from Petey, maybe if you fail certain missions, you take a different path.

They were confirmed in the Classic mode update to an extent.

I really don't know how the game over should be...

Does it really matter or is it that important that we need a thread on it?

Man, just go play another game.

I bet we'll get a ridiculous thread saying" What will happen if you press start button in adventure mode?!?!?!" What will the screen look like??? post pics!!

Hopefully, they won't have the announcer saying "GAAAAAME OVEEEERRR...." all depressed like. That actually made me go "Oh....****....That hurts....", like he all believed in you and everything.

While it could be kind of neat to have each character's game over screen be relevant to the character, ala character entrances, its really unnecessary. Plus, I'd most likely have to die on purpose just to see them, unless Intense is really THAT intense.

I usually play through the 1P modes on Very Easy just to unlock everything quickly, and then its VS mode all the way. Who dies on Very Easy? Though now the easiest difficulty is 'Easy', so the game may be that slightest bit harder. ....Who am I kidding? No one dies on Easy either.

maybe but it looks like you can revisit levels after you complete them again

so if you lose you have to start at the beginnning of the level but don't have to start at the beginning of the SSE.

of course this is all speculation since the game isn't out yet.

Well, in that case, think of a recent Mario game or, better yet, a Kirby game. You can revisit stages, and your save encompasses that as well.

Seeing as no-one else has pointed out the obvious, I will:

Snake's should be "Snake? Snake?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!"

Haha
I thought of this while I let my imagination flow
I also thought
That Brawl was never really a game
Two people just were trying to get people hyped up
Which this is obviously false
But you know
I WILL NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN
