Game of the Year 2008? (Non-SSBB?)

I thought I'd check that, Frown, and in doing so found this

Makes for an interesting read. This is what would win game of the year if calculated by review scores alone (yes, I know noone actually listens to the critics, but I think it's useful when they're pooled together this way). GTA IV was best reviewed game for both ps3 and xbox 360 (which on one hand isn't saying much as they're the same game, but on the other hand is interesting in that neither console had anything which reviewed better than it).

Sorry if someone's already linked to this. Seems I may actually need to play GTAIV. How inconvenient...

No Contest.

It's definetly between either Metal Gaer Solid 4 or GTA, but personally I'd rather see MGS4 take the Game of the Year Award due to the fact that I dislike GTA, plus the MGS is one of my favories series of all time.

I meant to say MGS4 as the 'only' game to win, but I guess I just decided to throw in GTA in there.

Gamespot.com named Metal Gear Solid 4 as their Game of the Year. Not entirely surprising.

For IGN, I'd believe it's between Fallout 3 (Xbox 360 rep), Braid(Xbox Live), World of Goo (Edging out SSBB for the Wii representative?? This game is just getting snubbed...), MGS4 (PS3), Sins of a Solar Empire (PC), TWEWY (DS) and Patapon (PSP). That looks like it'll go to MGS4 too...

Gameinformer probably won't name theirs until the issue comes out.

Gamespy's awards are the most interesting. They named MGS4 and GTAIV, the two "frontrunners," 9th and 6th best on the year, respectively. Fallout 3 takes the #1 place, which I agree with, but Gears of War 2, absent on many other lists, takes #4. Interesting.

I just don't want to see Fallout 3 get any more undeserved acclaim and awards. GTAIV doesn't deserve it either, any game where the colors are just grays and blacks and browns and crap in a city environment (although that color palette just pisses me off in general), doesn't deserve GoTY.

Metal Gear 4 or No More Heroes. Both amazing games in more than one respect, and both fun to play.
