Frame Data seems rather useless.

I see "frame data" a lot on SmashBoards. I think it's rather useless at the moment.

I want to see (visual not textual) actual complete frame data of each character. That means going out, capturing the animations of moves and marking visually where a hitbox is (along with it's shape) and where the character's hitboxes is.

If you've ever made a character for the MUGEN fighting engine, then you would know what I mean. I would think Brawl would have some sort of debug feature that allows you to see hitboxes. Maybe someone could make a hack.

It'd also be nice if someone got actual game data measurements like "Pikachu's thunder hitbox is 100ft tall and 5ft wide"

I completely agree that this would be useful...but not as much to people who play the game a lot. I still think it would be beneficial at times. Mostly I just believe this would be a nice way to explain hitboxes to people who can't grasp it. This idea is a something I'd love to see happen. You could really pick apart moves.

I think Melee's debug mode gave all that information.
AFAIK Brawl has no such thing.

But as for now, what you can use current frame data for is to be able to tell when you should attempt to punish something and when you shouldn't.

This.

You shouldn't punish your opponent with a 50 frame move when they miss a 25 frame move. Just an example I dunno how to really apply frame data.
