Explanation of mechanics (just stuff I'm assuming, I'd have to ask someone with AR to see for sure):
Wavedash down. Don't release your trigger, so that your shield pops up on the first possible frame. Also, keep holding down on your control stick. Alternatively, you can plug in your controller while holding up so that it stays down. Now, try to shine at the same time your shield pops up after your wavedash landing lag. If you do it right, you can shine instead of having your first frame shield come up.
My assumption is that shine takes priority over shield when both inputs are available on the same frame.
See how many times you can shine in a row without having your shield come up.
