To SD with.
Ankoku's got the gist of it, allow me to clarify some finer details.

* attempting to bair edgeguard someone- mix it up w/ a fair>SD
* sliding fairs (falling off the edge, possibly from running)
* doraki instant walljump> shine-no-turnaround>fair
* any other confusion of the bair & fair> SD

Hope that helps.

The first hit can be used late in the jump as a mini-nair

... but still don't, I've messed around with it and it basically just gets you sexed kicked out of your combos alot... it's bad.

lol fox's fair is quite horrid.

ill use it sometimes for shine combos when i get tired of doing bair/nair shines. my friends get frustrated when getting hit by the multiple kicks of fox's fair.
the first hit has pretty good knockback tho... only useful at high %'s IMO

oh yea, fairs are also excellent for unwanted SD's. i hate those.

Hmmm I used to think this until just recently like last weekend watching FLT use Fair in a lot of his matchs. On caveman he did shffled nair to fullhopped fair to uptilt to uair. O.O. lol. And also shffling fair into a shine on peoples shields does wonders to get you a grab.

knocking your friends out of rest lag or broken shields in teams

otherwise it's not useful for much, it's okay to set up grabs with, and you might end up getting a couple lucky hits with it on fastfallers or something. otherwise, don't intentionally use it for anything besides helping your ally in above situations.

fair really isn't that useful.I watched masashi do a Uthrow+Fair on ken at a low percent,so maybe it can be useful for throws on certain characters.

I have a video that should be uploaded soon. I was screwing around in a friendly and only spammed fairs. I ended up KO'ing FalseFalco's Sheik with a fair.

Lol I win.

FastFox is just too fast after his 2x speed upgrade (which i'm guessing is poking fun at internet providers) he even makes fox's fair look impressive.

Surely it has some uses right?

Couldn't you shffl it to pop the opponent up a bit and usmash? I i know that works on a coupla characters...but isn't not using it at -all- a little bit rash?

a longer range weaker version of the nair. for those times a nair just won't quite reach and someone's about to wail on your ***, and you need to hit them. For edgeguarding falco and exclaiming that they died to fox's fair (along the lines of fastfox's logic). for doing a shine turnaround to bair, but using the fair anyway for a ******** SD.

My friend says he wants to see this in a combo video:
Throw the Fox of the stage as Falco.
Then jump off and follow him down with F-air, hitting him with ALL of the attacks.
Then Side-B spike him!!!!

nice

probably won't work. but would look really cool. and the fox would have to be stupid. actually, the falco would have to be stupid to. I don't even know if fox can be hit by all of falco's fair hits. not to mention being in the correct place to be phantasm meteored. might work on peach at 0 w/ an up throw, but both ppl would still have to be ********.

wikked sweet in a really stupid way. it would look kinda cool, but stupid is a better term. All involved would have to be ********. It's worse than trying the tapion punch on peach. And not nearly as sweet as the knee>falcon punch "combo" *cough* techcase *cough*. which is doable.

Ledge hop fairs are pretty nice. It's good to mix it up, since the fair has like a million hits. It'll most likely get you back on stage, and it actually hits quite often to(leading to shine combos).

It's really really situational, but it connects aerial combos well.

Lastly, it's like an aerial jab. A nice move to get a shine/grab combo/kill going or killing at high percents.

maybe its not TOTALLY useless since it has less knockback than the nair i sometimes use it when the % is too high to nair>shine i f-air>shine. its so situational its almost useless though.
