Hi guys, I was watching Trailer 2 (Nintendo World 2006)
and I saw something that startled me.

If you look at Fox's Introduction near the end, on Lylat Cruise, as the camera circles the Pleiades ship from the back to the front. Approximately 2:22-2:23 in.

Mario and Pit are at the left in the air.

Fox hits Link, and goes below the central platform in the air. Link lands and rolls to the right of the main, and Fox Wavedashes to the left of the main platform and then tries a dash Attack?!

Does anyone else see it?! It's NOT A ROLL! Wavedashing confirmed in Brawl?! I'm not going insane am I?

It could be the beggining of the dash animation, and then they do the attack which cancels the animation, and then the attack happens

Dont get your hopes up, but I really hope that he wavelanded on accident and they let it in the trailer

It just looks like a dash to me. But then again, that's hella hard to see.
I can't even follow which one is Fox when I watched it over and over....

It's definitely not a waveland, Fox dropped through the central platform, and waited a few frames, before wavedashing to the left, and then dash attack to the right. But either waveland or wavedash = wave exploits in Brawl!

The reason why I don't think it is a dash is that he is facing right at the beginning and the end of the dash. If it was a normal dash, he'd be facing left at the end of his dash...

Maybe the smash staff read all about advanced smashing (unlikley) and threw in a little surprise that is hard to find for the vets, just to see how it spreads!

I hope it is in, i mean, if it is "Cheap" then that little circle of scrubs can just... NOT USE IT

Do you notice Mario? :)
Fox could be doing the same thing.
And I'm starting to think that wavedashing won't be in Brawl... there seems to be new functions for Brawl, that might just replace wavedashing.

*sigh*

Why do people keep making these threads? The people controlling the characters in these trailers are NOT going to be wavedashing or using any advanced techniques! Come on, seriously...

Oh no man,I highly doubt that wavedashing and other advanced techniques are hidden facts to the programmers. They know about it and if anything drastic happens to it,it wont be removal cuz they still want the hardcore players to be smashing it up Iam sure.

I just hope they dont go the Tekken route of things and make the mascott characters the strongest in the game(T5DR:Mishimas own,T6:Kazuya looks promising). We all know whos the well known dude in Smash land.Hint hint,"its a me!"

It absolutely "Looked" like a wave dash, but Pit does the very same thing in this trailer halfway through when he does what look like a new roll around Wario, Im guessing this "Wave dash" we're seeing is the new roll, and if so.

QFT

And Meta knight does the same thing, too, when he's fighting Kirby.

it seems to me that it could be anything from some new action having to do with crawling to an attack. it kinda looks to me like theres a little flicker of animation right when he lands. the same kinda thing as they had in melee, it kinda kicks up dust when they do a fast attack. that usually only happens either when he does an attack, or when he lands normally. it may just be that the camera's turning and it looks like he moved a little to the left because of it. my first guess is a jab or something.

it could even be a glitch they havn't quite worked out yet. who knows. i highly doubt it's wavedashing, but it could be. whatever.

upon further inspection, fox didn't seem to move all too much to the left. link probably rolled for a reason. my guess is that fox attempted a jab which got obscured in the landing animation.
